It seems like it was just a few months ago that coaches couldn't buy a recruit a soft drink, but now Ryan Day is saying it will cost you $2 million to land a top QB! The first thing that comes to mind is agents and lawyers are now making a fortune representing 17/18 year old kids not even out of HS yet!

Since I don't live in Louisiana anymore, anyone hear what Arch is asking? I know some will say that it's not about money for Arch because his family has plenty of it, but you don't walk away from that type of money regardless of who you are.

Simi pro no longer college no watch no bet . Don't matter . One thing for sure the players will need a lawyer to read their contract to them

It's seems like this is a golden opportunity for some of these sleaze bag attorneys to take advantage of these young kids because most come from poor, single parent homes with very little education.

How long before HS players start refusing to play due to NIL recruitment factors. Can you imagine the HS kid, who comes from a poor family and is looked at as the savior? What kind of pressure is going to be brought to bear on these kids. They’re in HS for Pete’s sake. If these kids get hurt and cannot fulfill NIL contracts, what kind of family stressor is that? The unintended consequence of NIL goes far and wide. How long is it going to be before we witness a suicide by a student who is unable to live up to expectations. This shit is out of control.

2023 recruit Omarion Miller has decommitted from LSU. "I committed to LSU a year ago," Miller wrote. "During that time, so many things have changed in the recruiting world. I have learned how instrumental building real relationships can be in this process. I have also realized that I need to know the details behind every opportunity provided to me."

Anyone need that last sentence translated?

I agree. This entire NIL deal is beyond ridiculous. I'm all for athletes getting paid, but with little to no oversight, it's been a train wreck. I predict within the next two years, you will see basketball players being purchased as package deals, much like the "Fab Five" at Michigan. I could see it happening in football with a QB and an OL teaming up. The sad part is it's only going to get worse with time!

Stopped watching pro football and basketball years ago and had mainly just watched college ball to get a fix but this NIL seems to me that it will just destroy college sports. So guess there will be more time for kayak fishing, etc.

So does this mean they can afford their own tuition now? The schools (us) can stop paying for their education, room and board, books, etc. I have to pay for mine, its only fair.
