OU wins easily 79-10 against NT. I realize the NT coaches are fresh out of High School, but darn you couldn't ask for a better start for your team. The Sooners clicked on all cylinders. Sam Bradford looked great in his QB debut. Nothing like getting the newbie a bunch of confidence to play with going into next weeks game against Miami. Sam set a couple of OU records tonight. 1) Most passing yards in a half with 350 (beat Heuple's old record) 2) 18 Consecutive pass completions (beat Jason White's old record) New freshman running back DeMarco Murray finished with 5 TDs Stats at the half were Rushing OU132 NT-7 Passing OU350 NT96 Total Yards OU482 NT89 Score OU49 NT0 too many players to give kudos to right now. I'm fixing to go watch it on DVR. Just got home from the game.
Yep, leave it to Stoops to take it easy on a team when warranted--because I was CERTAIN he'd hang at least 80 on UNT since he could.
FWIW, Stoops told their coach he wasn't intentionally running up the score after the game. The Sooners showed some speed too.
I watched a little of the game, and it's actually true. UNT was just that inept that OU couldn't help but score. But I still think Stoops is a jerk, and Todd Dodge is probably wishing he'd stayed at Southlake Carroll, where he was coaching far superior athletes to the ones on his team in Denton.
What was Stoops supposed to do? He played 3 different QBs that game. It was the 1st time 2 of them had ever taken a snap in a college football game.
As I said in another post in this thread, I know that he couldn't help it. Of course, I can't help not liking Stoops, either. Sort of how OU fans can't help but not like Les Miles. But you and I both know that Stoops is not at all above padding stats like crazy. How else did Jason White win the Heisman?
