Struggling mightily against Tulsa at home, leading only 7-6 Funny how the OU of 2005 compares to LSU of 2004 entering the season. Both with great defenses, young receivers, a great running game, but big question marks at QB. Even the likeness of them having some experience at QB and a freshman backing him up, with the freshman having to come in early in the season. Now they know how we felt last year.
and we played a ranked team to being with in OSU under horrible conditions that hampered our offense....and they don't even have a key injury such as we had with Skyler...heaven forbid should that happen to them
Final score, OU 31, Tulsa 15. They failed to cover the 31 points as predicted. They have an even worse QB situation than we had last year. Paul Thompson is playing like DJ Shockley played in Tiger Stadium in 2003.
Peterson was huge for the Sooners. He ran for 220 and three TDs. The last one was a thing of beauty. 41 yards and steamrolled three Tulsa defenders.
It should have ended up 24-15.....the OU defense scored on the very last play of the game on a 40+ interception return OU is in trouble...the O-line sucks, the QB is raw, the receivers are not that talented it appears (and are raw as well). They got a ways to go. My dream is for UT to come in undefeated (gasp!) to the Red River shootout against a 4-4 OU team (or whatever the mediocre record would be at that point in the season) and for Stoops to kick Mack Brown's ass once again.
Poke fun at OU all you want. At least it was a win. There are a lot of notable teams struggling this year. Never know, you guys might be 0-1 after tonight.
