Hope he's ok. That's some pretty horrific stuff.

Hope he's ok. Needs to learn a little control and stay away from that girl.

Reading the article, I wonder if he'll play again? A severed bicep? That has to hurt like all hell.

Sounds like he may have ended up an academic casualty eventually. Obviously not the sharpest tool in the shed. That being said, I hope he is ok.

Testosterone and teenaged boys are a dangerous combination.

Years ago, when I taught at Springfield High before moving to Texas, a student of mine had his heart broken by his girlfriend, so he did the most logical thing--he punched his locker...and proceeded to spend the next month in a cast to repair his broken hand.

He and the girlfriend got back together, all the way until the day before his cast was coming off--when she broke up with him again. So...he punched threw his truck window and broke and cut his hand.

Good lord. Is it safe to assume that he wasn't a great student?

He was an average student, and his mom taught at the school, too.

I remember thinking then (in my mid-20's) that his mom had to be embarrassed at his behavior. Now, that I have a teenager of my own (albeit a girl), I KNOW that his mom was embarrassed.

    >>> An Update From The Advocate...
The injury is not career or life threatening, the source said, but it could put Lealaimatafao’s freshman season in jeopardy. The team was hoping for him to challenge on the defensive line.

He must have literally gotten a very "red shirt" which will probably result in a figurative "redshirt" deferment. Maybe that's why they call the deferment a "redshirt." Here's what wikipdedia says about it...
