From today's Tampa Tribune: http://gators.tbo.com/gators/MGBYP26GRGE.html "Any speculation the Outback might select South Carolina (7-4) ended Friday with the publication of an e-mail from Outback vice chairman Steve Schember to the Baton Rouge (La.) Advocate. "South Carolina is not coming to our bowl," Schember wrote. "We have already told them that. LSU is still a candidate for our bowl should it lose in Atlanta this Saturday." Reached by phone Friday in Atlanta, Schember confirmed he sent the e-mail, and he said the Gators, Tigers and Alabama -- if the Cotton Bowl takes LSU -- are strong candidates for the bowl. He also said bowl officials would rather not pick an SEC team until they know the pool of Big 10 teams available to them. That pool will be shallower if Ohio State is selected as an at-large Bowl Championship Series team".
Capitol One Bowl is better my friend. It is the highest paying bowl outside of the BCS bowls. Coming in next is the Cotton, then the Outback, then the Gator bowl. LSU should really be hoping for a spot in Orlando if by chance they don't get a return trip to Atlanta for the Sugar.
Yeh, we wont be going there to Orlando though because we were there last year. Cotton Bowl is a possibility.... i think. I've heard they want Bama.
That really shouldn't matter I don't believe. Back when it was the Citrus Bowl, the Vols went to it 3 times in a 4 year span. '94, '96, and '97.
Not sure why it matters either, but that seems to be the concensus with fans and sportswriters, so there must be something to it. If we don't make it to Sugar i'd love to go to Cap One again with better results. Also helps that i live just a few miles from the citrus bowl.
Yeh, i think they are trying to not do that kind of thing anymore. Especially with the SEC having so many bowl tie-ins now it isn't really necessary to play the same bowl consecutively. I would love to go back there if we loose but I dont think they are looking at us.
I'll handle this one for ya Tigahs. :hihi: You idiot! It only matters in terms of like 2 million dollars to the school if the Capitol One bowl says no and LSU has to settle for the Cotton. Win or lose you want the best bowl you can get for your athletic department. Sheesh. :nope:
