Get this.. the pac-10 commish is complaining about the coaches' poll screwing CAL... gimme a break.. if there was ever a conference that is the poll favorite, coaches' or AP... http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/bowls04/news/story?id=1940058
More interesting than the actual ballot would be to find out how many coaches actually fill out the ballot themselves or how many delegate it to the SID or someone else on staff. It's been rumored that the latter is the case in a lot of instances.
My initial reaction was to simply dismiss this as more Pac-10 bitching, but after this line from the story, it is likely that some of these coaches were in collusion. "Six coaches picked the Bears seventh or lower in the final poll: four at No. 7 and two in the eighth slot. In the previous week's poll, nobody picked Cal lower than sixth. The latest vote came after Cal's 26-16 win at Southern Mississippi on Saturday night." That is a crock of sh!t.
The complaining is pretty pathetic, however, Cal could beat Texas on an even field 9 out of 10 times any given day.
How could you not drop call after the SMU game.. they were hardly convincing... LSU got dropped after beating OSU and Troy.. same deal
I didn't get to see the Cal/SMU game, but Cal did come out with the win....and after watching USC this year, it looks like that's all that matters.
.......and USC lost a lot of poll points and votes after their dismal performance against pitiful UCLA team! :thumb:
as much as I don't like texas, no way they lose 9 of 10 to cal. Texas would be a decent favorite over Cal. neutral field prolly 4-6 points. i'd guess texas wins 6 of 10 due to their depth and overall talent.
