Have any of yall been craving some Mexican death ever since they closed the BR and Metairie location after Katrina? Me and a few of my friends are taking a road trip to the LSU - Texas game on Sunday in Houston and I've mapped out the nearest Panchos in Houston.

I'll have some some sopapilla with my honey please!

That's so funny. So many family memories. Oh, how I love microwaved cheese and frozen mexican food... :hihi:

    Cheese enchilladas... mmmmmm

The one in BR got pretty bad before I left though. There was so much grease all over the floor that I would 'skate' to the salad bar.

The old Pancho's on Nicholson was All-You-Can Eat for $1.49 in the 70's and a haven for poor students on the weekends.

I could eat about three chili rillenos with queso right now.

There is a certain allure that Pancho's does cast, but treat yourself to Pappasito's. No little flag, but still an excellent choice for gluttony.

Just remember, in the Pancho's eating contest, ice cream does not constitute a food item.

I remember eating there and at Ryan's all the time when I was little. Why? We ate free.

pancho's is truly outstanding, and is pretty much everything i ever wanted in a restaurant. if they had pulled pork and beef brisket sandwiches and crawfish pies, there would really be no need for any other restaurants in the world.

of course the location we picked was closed. Still had the sign up by a giant "For Lease" sign in the window.

"Raise the flag, Raise the flag..... Blah blah blah....Panchos Mexican Buffet":hihi:

Also the Papacitos in Baton Rouge had to change their name because the dumbass owner figured peoplee from Houston would never guess he stole the name. Its now called Mi Padres.:dis:
