Going to the BCS title game with a friend who has trouble walking long distances...any suggestions on parking at/near the dome?

Will there be spaces available in the parking garage? Any suggestions are welcome.
    Thanks.

They have several parking garages right next to the dome that are open for games. I don't know if you will be able to park in the dome garage but the walk from the other garages are not far from the dome.

I have no issue walking, but I'd like to know too what the parking scenario is. Any words of wisdom?

The meters are irrelevant after 6:30. They may even be irrelevant starting sooner given the game. What I usually do is find a metered spot in the area of the LSUHSC. It's not a far walk at all from there. Few blocks.

Not sure how it will work exactly for this game, but I went to the Sugar Bowl and was one of the last cars able to park in the dome parking garage, arriving at 5 (with kickoff being 7:30). Parking was 25 buckeroos.

We got to the dome around 2:30 and had no problems finding a parking spot. The only problem happened when we parked next to this HUGE truck and I accidentally opened the car door and marked his car. Out comes this seriously buff guy. I get all wide eyed and tell him how sorry I am. The guy just smiles and says it's okay...he admitted he really shouldnt have parked here anyway because his truck was too big.

Man I love the LSU faithful!

If you prefer, there will be a shuttle leaving from parking areas around the Convention Center that will drop off and pick up from right across the street from the SuperDome. The cost is $5/per person.
