By Glenn Guilbeau Louisiana Gannett News Service BATON ROUGE - They have gotten to Ryan Perrilloux. The media police - also known as the LSU sports information department - have taken the muzzle off the brash and anything but reserved true freshman quarterback from Reserve. But have they merely replaced the muzzle with an invisible one? Perrilloux, the consensus No. 1 prep quarterback in the nation last season out of East St. John High, answered a multitude of questions for the hour-long duration of Media Day on Sunday in the LSU indoor facility as he was constantly surrounded by reporters. Only he said little, and that's how coach Les Miles and offensive coordinator Jimbo Fisher like it. entire article here I'm just competing and learning the system," he said. "The system is hard, the terminology. Sometimes I feel like I don't know where to go with the ball. But it will all come with time and patience." No, Perrilloux is not under hypnosis, but he did have an individual meeting on Wednesday with representatives of the LeMaster Group, a slick media consultant firm out of Dallas that met with the LSU team as a group and in select one-on-one sessions. LSU's sports information department kept Perrilloux away from any interviews until he could learn "perception management" skills. "With a 25-year history in perception management, we offer clients a proven track record accompanied by a reputation for excellence in fields ranging from sports to politics to Fortune 500 consulting and issue management," reads LeMaster's mission statement. "We had a couple of meetings," Perrilloux said. "Mainly they said just to ... I don't know, I can't really remember." Then he started laughing.
Whenever we lose our first game (if we do I should say)....I am VERY curious to see how many start calling for RP
I will respect the decision the coaches make... I will never boo or 'call for' someone... It is disrespectful to the dude busting butt on the field I may have a personal preference, but that is what this forum is for: When I am in the bleachers on Sat, I am a LSU fan 100% no matter who is on the field, no matter what the record is,
People say that but come football time we will see...I remember people saying that last year and then Randall played the way he did against OSU
And wouldn't you agree that for whatever the reason that performance warranted, nay, BEGGED FOR, a substitution? If the starting quarterback that Miles selects plays poorly, you will have people calling for a sub. If he goes 25-42 for 350 yards with 2 TDs and 3 INTs and we lose 35-31 or something like that you won't hear much. If he has trouble completing bubble screens and fumbling on draw plays, you will hear a ton.
And the whole nation got to see how pathetic a bunch of drunk college kids can be...even at LSU. God bless Marcus Randall, and may he have an incredible pro career and never have to experience that again. I still feel for him.
Rag, I would agree with it but I didn't care for people yelling at Randall, calling him names, and the boo's. That was the point....I can see some doing that if Russell struggles some....sadly
Every player including any quarterback will have their up and down days; I just hope that those so called "fans" don't show their ugly faces. ________ Mercedes-benz w123 specifications
Don't worry they will, these same guys will boo the cheerleaders, officials, ballboy, etc. much less the coaches and players. The same guys that boo'd Randall sat their stunn faced when JR went in a imploded early, they didn't know what to do then!!!!! The guy sitting next to me at the OSU game was one of those type fans, he started cursing out the oline after first booing Skyler, then Randall and then JV. I came real close to dumping my coke on him but another fan beat me to it. Of course he said he was sorry but his sh!t eating grin gave him away.
