1. Give me your Top 2 players at every position all time. Guards can be interchangeable so that gives you the opportunity to select 4 points or 4 sg's.

    Center:
    Wilt Chamberlain
Shaquille O'Neal (I'm biased sue me)

    Power Forward:
    Tim Duncan
    Karl Malone

    Small Forward:
    LeBron James
    Larry Bird

    Guards:
    Magic Johnson
    Michael Jordan
    Allen Iverson
    Pete Maravich

What you got and why am I wrong?

Going with Kareem and Hakeem. (Maybe I love Muslims?)
I like these guys because they can score from outside the paint and make free throws. Hakeem is the all-time leader in blocks - Shaq's defense slipped a bit after his first few years.

    Guards:
    Magic Johnson
    Michael Jordan

Allen Iverson - too much of a chucker for my tastes, poor defender. Replacing with Oscar Robertson
Pete Maravich - Kobe: he plays defense, and can play above the rim

I have no disagreement with the Forwards.
  3. So many great players in different eras it's hard to say who is best. Wilt and Shaq but it's hard to leave Kareem Abdul Jabbar off any list. LeBron can play any position but so could Magic. He played center in an NBA Finals game when Kareem had migraines and scored 42 points.

While nobody can argue against the greatness of the Mailman his teams never won anything. So replace Malone with Kevin McHale.

Iverson was a great player but not an all time top 5 guard. And his teams never won anything. He only made one trip to the finals. Julius Erving could play guard or small forward so I'm putting him at guard to replace AI.

Like Malone, close but no cigar is John Stockton. You can't mention one without the other.

Bill Russell played center but at 6'9 in today's game he would be a power forward. Put him on the Old Timers Team with Bob Pettit, John Havlichek, Elgin Baylor and Bob Cousy. I can't leave Elvin Hayes off the old timers either.

What would LSU have done if they could have signed black players in the late 60's? U of Houston's Elvin Hayes, Don Chaney and Theodis Lee were all from Louisiana. Put them on the same team as Pete Maravich.

    Players of distinction:

    Moses Malone
    Rick Barry
    Dewayne Wade
    Bill Walton
    Wes Unseld
    Hakeem Olajuwon
    Clyde Drexler
Kobe Bryant (hate to leave him off all time guards list)
    Oscar Robertson
    Charles Barkley
Jerry West (his sillouette is the NBA logo)
    Walt Frazier
    David Robinson
  4. Allen Iverson never had any decent teammates. That dude carried terrible teams. Larry Brown once said if Iverson doesn't score us 40 we won't win. I think he was misunderstood, and I think the dude was waaaaaaaaaaaay better than he gets credit for.
  5. John Stockton was the dirtiest player in the NBA.
  6. Not nearly as dirty as Bill Laimbeer and the rest of the Piston's goons.
  7. The biggest crybaby ever was Magic Johnson. Every time they called a foul on him he got this look on his face like he couldn't possibly foul anybody, the other guy fouled him. The refs were screwing him.
  8. Anyone who played would tell you he was super dirty but he is so little you'd never know unless you really watched for it. He was the elbow and knee and tripping King on picks.
