We can't do DIDDLEY POO vs. OU this year.

I understand the intent. But just to let you know...your pairings are all out of whack. Why would 1 vs. 3 play in the second round? Along with 2 vs. 4? In your pairings, it is better to be the 6th seed than the 3rd or 4th...

In making pairings like this, you can always remember a check that the sum of the teams playing each other, if they are the lower seed teams, should add up to 1 + the number of total teams left. For example, 1 plays 16, 8 plays 9, etc. in the first round -- each adds up to 17. So, if the favorites win in the first round, 1 should play 8, 2 plays 7, (each adds up to 9) etc. in the second round.

I'd have same teams, different pairings, slightly different seedings....

    First Round
    1 USC vs 16 FSU
5 Cal vs 12 Va Tech

    4 Texas vs 13 Iowa
8 Boise St vs 9 Louisville

    2 OU vs 15 Tennessee
    6 Utah vs 11 LSU

    3 Auburn vs 14 Michigan
    7 Georgia vs 10 Miami

Works out where possible 1 vs 4 and 2 vs 3 semifinals....barring upsets, that is...

The seed numbers for a 16 team tourney should look like this:

    1 vs. 16
    8 vs. 9

    5 vs. 12
    4 vs. 13

    3 vs. 14
    6 vs. 11

    7 vs. 10
    2 vs. 15

Notice again that the sum of the seeds is 17 in the first round with 16 teams, and if the favorites win, the sum is 9 in the second round with 8 teams, and so on.

Damn you guys are right! I didn't even notice the seed matchups. Here is what the final BCS standings would translate into:

#16 Florida State at #1 Southern California

    #15 Tennessee at #2 Oklahoma

    #14 Miami at #3 Auburn

    #13 Michigan at #4 Texas

    #12 Iowa at #5 California

#11 Louisiana State at #6 Utah

    #10 Louisville at #7 Georgia

#9 Boise State at #8 Virginia Tech

Notice with the correct pairings using the current BCS rankings, should an 11 seed LSU beat a 6 seed Utah, we'd likely be playing 3 seed Auburn in the second round.
