    1. Oklahoma struggled to beat OSU, which will cost them a handful of 1st and place and 2nd place votes, bolstering Auburn's positions just a little in the human polls.
    2. Tennessee and Georgia survived potential upsets. This was crucial as Auburn will play both these teams in the coming weeks (Tennessee in the CG game).
    3. Miami lost, and now Auburn has definitely secured no worse than 3rd in any pollster's ballots.
    4. Texas A&M lost, which hurts Oklahoma this coming week in playing a "lesser" opponent.

    Auburn will have to overtake OU in all of the computer polls to even have a chance at finishing 2nd overall in the BCS. If Tennessee and Georgia can continue to win the remainder of their games other than Auburn, then Auburn may just be able to do that. The human pollsters will have to do the rest of the work, which is the unlikely part.

    You think many of the pollsters wanna see USC/Auburn instead of USC/OU? It's rhetorical.

    Auburn not only has to beat Georgia and Tennessee, but they have to beat then badly. This would be the only way to change enough of the human pollster's minds in vaulting Auburn to #2 in the BCS.

    Texas A&M giving OU a scare this week would also help tremendously as well as Nebraska in the CG game.

    It's possible that Auburn can take first place overall in some computers. If Oklahoma then averages between 2nd and 3rd in the computers... maybe Auburn can make up the ground.

    With the new BCS, if Oklahoma was straight up a place ahead of Auburn in both polls (i.e. have 60-65 more points than Auburn in each poll), Auburn would have to be two spots ahead of Oklahoma in the computers to have a shot. This could happen since Auburns schedule may be tough enough to bounce USC and Oklahoma in the next few weeks. The problem is there schedule looks almost identical to ours from last year out of conference. That's going to bring them down.

    Estimated BCS standings:

    1. USC....... .994 + .994 + .990 = 2.978/3 = .993
    2. OU......... .957 + .958 + .960 = 2.875/3 = .958
    3. Auburn.... .924 + .927 + .920 = 2.771/3 = .924

    Best computer results Auburn can hope for:
    ...............KM....JS....RB.....ST...PW...WC
    USC...........2.....1......3......1.....1.......1 = .990
    Auburn.......1.....2......1......2.....2.......2 = .970
    OU............3.....4......2......3.....3.......3 = .920

    If the human polls would remain the same, it would yield:

    1. USC..... .993
    2. OU....... .945
    3. Auburn.. .940

    It would be extremely close and would definitely be in the hands of the human polls.

    Sagarin already has USC 1, Oklahoma 2, Auburn 3 for this week.

    Yeah but that one will surely end up with Auburn #2 ahead of OU, after they play Georgia and Tennessee.

    I am estimating end of year results.

    Have you seen AP results out yet? Usually doesn't take this long to come out.

    I haven't seen the AP yet. I don't recall it ever coming out until like 3 on Sundays though. I don't know of a quicker source than ESPN, although I'm sure there is one. If you or anyone else knows of it, I'd appreciate it.

    I use cnnsi.com. It usually comes out at about 2 pm CST on that site. Today it was about an hour later. Maybe the AP writers turned their clock the wrong way.

    AP is now out. I've updated my BCS page with the two human polls and the 2 computer polls I've been able to get results from.
