COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. L-S-U's head women's basketball coach, Pokey Chatman, has been named an assistant coach of the 2005 United States Basketball World University Games team.
The selections, announced today, also included Harvard's Kathy Delaney-Smith as the head coach and Boston College's Cathy Inglese as the other assistant coach.

Chatman says the opportunity to represent U-S-A Basketball is an honor every player and coach dreams of during their careers.

In her first year as L-S-U's head coach, Chatman guided the Lady Tigers to a 33-and-three overall record, the program's first Southeastern Conference regular season title and a second straight trip to the N-C-A-A Final Four.

For her efforts she was named the National Coach of the Year by the United States Basketball Writers Association, Naismith and the W-B-C-A.
