  1. I just read on Hoopgurlz that Porsha Phillips is leaving LSU for UGA.
Doesn anyone know the truth about this?
  2. probably a similar situation when saban left and some of his committed players went elsewhere...
  3. Ouch, and double ouch! Maybe less so for this year but for 2008 LSU will have only 4 players returning.

This announcement coincides with Pokey's opening up about her dealings with LSU.
  4. We're gonna suck after this year. If I saw Carla Berry right now I'd choke her. I'm not saying that Pokey was an angel here, but why in the hell did Carla handle this situation this way? Pokey could have bowed out gracefully
and we wouldn't be in this horrible mess. I'm not feeling very good about LSU or Van Chancelor right now. This SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. At the same time, if you're a post player in the class of 2008, LSU looks pretty good right now. Instant starting job.

  6. NoDak, I'm glad you can be so positive, but I'm totally in the dumps. I'm sure Allison will leave now. Why would recruits want to come to a school that is losing so many players. If I were in their shoes I wouldn't be interested...
  7. He told you........playing time at a school with a great athletic program.:thumb:
  8. I'm hopin that Van Chancellor can bring in some recruits. He has a lot of credentials behind him that girls might want to play for. He better as the quality of SEC women's basketball is increasing. Pokey got a lot of enthusiasm out of her players but I believe we need to be a little more creative on offense. I believe Van Chance will bring a higher, more sophisticated level of play. But will he light a spark under the girls like Pokey. I don't know.
  9. And yet, if LSU had been disengenuous, the reason would have come out eventually. At that point, LSU would have been placed in a very bad situation. One in which we easily could be accused of putting recruiting success ahead of the welfare of the individual players. Ms. Berry placed the welfare of the girls ahead of her own. As it is, she is now out of the coaching ranks. Personally, I think her action was heroic. And as I recall, she didn't bring the matter public, but used internal channels to report the transgressions. Media pressure forced the problem into the open. IMO, the Athletic Department handled the whole affair in an upright, fair manner...including the ultimate "settlement." Credit should be given where it's due. LSU has a great program and another great coach. We'll be back...and with our reputation intact.
By the way, I've enjoyed your posts and there are a bunch of us who have followed the Lady Tigers' program and enjoyed their success along with the teams.
