I was there with my own 2 eyes for a couple of days, so here goes: 1. Flynn is sharp and he has a lot of zip in his arm. He may not have a heck of experience, but he has the team's attention when he speaks. He and Early are like Aikman and Irvin or Montana and Rice or any other great tandem. They just seem to click, because early in both of their careers they were backups so they have been on the same squad for scrimmages and stuff most of their careers, so the timing is totally down. 2. I know a lot of people wonder about the 3rd and 4th receivers. I did not see the freshmen work too much yet, but I have been told by someone that T. Toliver is a mad-man, so I expect to see him playing a big role this season. 3. Will Arnold is NOT 100% and if Dandy says he is, then he is looking through 100-proof purple and gold tinted goggles, or he just has no clue about anything, which I think we may be dealing with a little bit of both cases. Anyway, yeah, Will is not 100% and isn't even real close. He could look better when he isn't blocking against Dlinemen like we have , but he needs some work to be where he wants to be. 4. At tailback I said Keiland has lost some ground in spring, WELLL, he apparently heard me, because he has gained all of it back so far, because he has looked fabulous. I still like Murphy a lot and so does Miles, but Keiland will get 20-25 carries a game I'd suspect. 5. D-Line is dominant as we suspected and the defense as a whole is ahead of offense so far. 6. Chad Jones is going to 100% play football unless something drastic happens, and he may well start as a freshman ala Laron, even though the coaches like the steadiness of Curtis Taylor a lot. 7. Coach Miles jumped Chevis Jackson and Johnathan Zenon's crap the 2nd practice after they let a few passes be caught. Miles knows these guys need to be leaders and the new anchors back there, so it's good he is taking control early. 8. Perrilloux is loose and in fabulous shape. I haven't seen him throw too much, but he is in the best shape of his career, easily. if there is anything I missed that you guys want, just let me know.
As always THANK YOU!!!! This info is more appreciated then you will ever know for us out-of-towners!!!
Clair, I know you are a huge RP fan... what is he weighing? There was footage of him checking into the apartments and he looked like he has really developed a lot of muscle. He always appeared to be a little soft to me. Where did he train this summer. Thanks for the continued updates.
i don't know, but i would assume 225-230, but yes, he is like a rock. his mom sort of "punished him" since the trouble, and he is a momma's boy, so he obeyed, so he really didn't have anything to do other than work out.
Cgisclair....thanks for the updates, man. Although alot of that stuff is good, it was tough to read about Will Arnold not being 100%. Hopefully he'll be there by September 8th. Thanks again, bro!:thumb:
he is capable of starting for all but probably 20 D-I teams, but Flynn will start. that isn't even a race.
I'm trying to emulate the idiot Flynn lovers last year. And yes, deep down, I wish RP was ready to start right now.
there is a story on tigerbait about richard murphy. i am telling you guys, this kid may be the next reggie bush.
