As most of you probably know, President Bush flew over NOLA at 2,500 feet, and Mississippi at 1,700 feet...in Air Force One! That's pretty low for that big of an aircraft...

Here's a picture of the SuperDome at 2,500 feet, courtesy of Google Earth. He could see a lot from that vantage point.

Not that I'm aware of (not on my version, anyway.)

See the attached pic though...I'm not sure when it was taken (though I THINK it was from mid-day yesterday) but the dark area shows the flooding.

The map servers that offer high-resolution post-hurricane imagery right now are propreitary and are getting slammed by government agencies. There is a meeting at LSU this afternoon about getting access to the imagery for the fed/state/university agencies now working on Katrina recovery efforts.

Google Earth pics are at least 2 years old, some older. However the news has some pay pics they were showing before and after. Very much like the Tsunami's.

We haven't gotten access yet. And posting any images would depend on whether a . . . vacation to Leavenworth, Kansas was involved. :yelwink2:
