It used to be considered bad luck for LSU to wear their purple jerseys. As the years go on I think we are becoming less superstitious about that. It has been tradition to wear our white jerseys for home games. Some teams have chosen to wear their road jerseys at home to force us to wear purple jerseys to try and put a hex on us. I'm starting to like our purple jerseys more and more now for home games. Not saying we should switch over totally but I would like to see them more often. What do you kids think? (I know, meanlingless thread but it's early and I'm bored)
I agree, I dont mind the purple one's at all. I'm just wondering if the purple jersey's wouldn't look better with white pants. Don't go crazy on me, I'm just wondering.
I don't think the purple jerseys are bad luck. I just think they are ugly. The white and gold combination with purple trim is much more elegant.
One of the things I loved about Nick Saban was his total debunking of all those former, assinine, myths rumors innuendos surrounding LSU football - one of those being the purple jerssy bull crap. It doesn't matter if LSU wears pink polka dots as long as the TIGERS win it doesn't matter, when, where, what time of day or what uniforms they have on - Just win baby! For the record when I was at LSU in the Mid 80's LSU had to wear purple jerseys and oh by the way the Tigers were damn good...SEC Champs in 1986 and 1988 and were 10-1-1 in 1987. And as a critic of uniforms...I think LSU looks better in the purple jerseys.
If I'm remembering correctly, wasn't LSU in the purple uni's for the "earthquake" game against Auburn?
I still like the white jerseys better but the purples are nice looking and have no problem with them. For home games though, I like white.
