Three weeks after quarterback Ingle Martin announced his decision to leave Florida, he has decided on a new school.

The former Gator has decided to transfer to Furman, a Division I-AA school in South Carolina, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

"I just want to be somewhere I can play and enjoy it for a couple more years," Martin told the paper from his home in Nashville, Tenn. "Furman is offering me a chance to play football while I'm getting a quality education. It's just a new opportunity; one I'm really excited about."

Martin announced his decision to leave Florida on Dec. 1 and decided to transfer to Furman on Friday, a week after visiting the University of Pennsylvania, the paper reported.

Because Furman (6-5) is a I-AA school, Martin will be eligible to play immediately.

Martin told the paper he was disappointed to leave, but understood the situation at Florida.

"They were going in a direction that didn't really have me in their plans," Martin said. "I'm going to miss Gainesville, but I need to be playing."

As a redshirt sophomore, he started four games this season for the Gators before being replaced by true freshman Chris Leak.

Martin led Florida to a 33-10 lead against then No. 2 Miami earlier in the season, but left the game with a concussion and the Hurricanes rallied for a 38-33 win.
