I no longer live in the area and my cable co is Comcast. I keep hearing yall talk about such and such games being replayed on CSTV (just recently I think I've heard people mention the "Bluegrass Miracle", '97 Florida, and "Earthquake Game", etc...) My question is, does CSTV do this sporadically throughout the year? Also, is CSTV an HD channel when available (ie. when replaying Florida '97 it's obviously not HD but maybe a more recent game it is an HD broadcast)? I'm jealous as all get out that I don't have this CSTV that you speak of. I don't remember such a channel back in the days when I used to live down there in NOLA and BR. The reason I ask this is that I've been trying to collect game tapes and record games digitally now that I can. CSTV sounds like it would be great for getting some old classics, especially if the video is of decent quality or HD when available. I figured I'd hook up some stuff to my old man's entertainment center so that I could remotely tell it to record some of this stuff next time I'm visiting. On a side note, anyone else here try to keep recordings of games? Maybe not every game but at leat some special games? I usually don't keep ones against opponents like "Middle Tenn" but most decent competition I do keep the recordings... However, no matter how much I may want to watch them in the future for whatever reason, I have never kept a tape of a game we lost, anyone else have this affliction? If anyone's wondering, yes, I have and do watch games a second time, haven't watched any more than twice though. Also, does anyone know a way to get a high quality version of the 2003 NC game? I don't have that DVD that LSU sells but it doesn't sound as if it is a complete version of that game, more of a season recap.
CST is Cox Sports Television.. it was created when the New Orleans Hornets relocated to New Orleans from Charlotte several years ago. They centered the entire channel at first around the Hornets games, and have since added replays of every LSU football game the next day (it was in the afternoon at first, but now it replays on Sunday evenings..). Sporadically throughout the year they will show old ESPN or ESPN2 LSU football games.. they do a special on the recruiting class usually as well. They have a show called Tiger Tracks which is a monthly recap of all LSU sports hosted by Jordy Hultberg (who does the Hornets and LSU games for CST).. they've even now added a lot of Saints coverage from the B&G scrimmage to the draft to airing Sean Payton's press conferences the day after the Saints games.. Anyway, the only way to get it is via Cox Cable or Charter Cable offers it on one of their sports packages because Charter is the cable carrier for the Slidell area and they didn't have access to Hornets games. One of the only reasons I keep cable is for CST.. having access to every LSU game is awesome. I have like the past three or four years of LSU games on VHS tape.. I am hoping to eventually transfer them to DVDs. Anyway, hope the information helps. Brian ~Go Tigers!~
You can find the entire NC game on DVD. I'm not sure if it's for sale on LSU's site, but I have it and I also have the DVD of the sugar bowl from this year. I heard that one was sold out, but I visited a local wal-mart and saw about 50 for sale, so I bought one. I didn't get to see the game live as I was flying home from California during the game. (I thought we were going to the rose bowl.) I have a few games on vhs. I know I have LSU vs Florida when Emmitt Smith was a freshman and the "Earthquake Game", which was replayed last night on CST
Are you talking about CST (Cox Sports Television) or CSTV (College Sports TV)? CST is only available on (duh) Cox cable. CSTV is a college-only cable channel similar to ESPNU, but it was around long before ESPNU. CSTV shows retro college football games from time to time & they also show LSU games on occasion.
CSTV is College Sports TV affiliated with CBS. Check out their website but here's a quick line from what they offer and where. CSTV is widely available on cable systems across the country, including Comcast, Time Warner, Cox, Cablevision, Charter, Insight, Bright House Networks, Mediacom, Insight, RCN, Advanced Cable and Bresnan. It is also available on DIRECTV's Total Choice Premier Package Channel 610 and DISH Network's America's Top 120 Package Channel 152. However, there are still many places where CSTV is not available or on a tier that is difficult to access. So we need your help to get CSTV more widely distributed.
