Coach Bill Arnsparger's son, David Arnsparger, is coaching my son's high school football team this year. It's his first year as our coach and came onto the job in the middle of the summer.

Coach Bill has agreed to speak for us as a fund raiser.

My question is would any LSU fans in the south TN, north Alabama area be interested in attending this function when we can get it scheduled. Even as far away as Birmingham or Nashville...It's an hour and a half to Athens, AL from those two locations...

This is real and not a scam. It will be for the West Limestone High School football program. We are located in Limestone County Alabama, the city of Athens, and 30 miles west of Huntsville.

Everything happened so fast this summer there was no time to schedule this event so it appears it will pushed back to later in the year.

How many of you would be interested?

When we get it scheduled I will post a link to whichever paper we can get to do an article on it.

By the way, Coach Bill is real high on the LSU faithful. When I asked him his favorite college team, it's immediately the LSU Tigers.

I have followed West for many years, or should I say this group of boys.
I agree until anyone stops LCHS they are the team to beat just like Tanner in the county.

I had hoped West would play much better than we did last year BUT LCHS was a special team who nearly won the state title...Kudos to that group of kids. I think you can count on one hand how many games they lost the entire time they played together. They were truly special. I have seen West play several games in the camps this year. The first five games we were 4 - 1 only losing to Fairview by 4 points...a very strong 4A team.

At Elkmont, lost a close one to Columbia the other two were blowout wins over county teams. At Lawrence County, Mars Hill got us then we beat Lawrence County. At Montevallo we went 4 - 5.

This year's team is not last years team. Last year was last year...West did play poorly at times. Elkmont took us to the shed in the tourny at LCHS.
If you think just because you beat us last year we are going to roll over and say you are better than we are...especially after our win over you in your camp at your house in the old hot box...You are mistaken.

Now then, to all my Elkmont friends and family...good luck this year and win all your games except ours. And understand the 'Cat really enjoys the trash talk part of the game so don't get mad at me...and don't take it personal...I can take it when we lose and I can dish it when we win...If you know me you already know that.

This staff is ecouraging other sports but if I am not mistaken, you can't overlap any practices.
By that I mean, while playing football you can't practice basketball...That may just be a West rule, I don't know.
Coach Arns has come to town and been a breath of fresh air. Everyone, all sports, seems to be really working together.

Do you honestly think that people 2 states over ( or further) would want to go to a fundraiser for a "bammer" highschool???? I'm not trying to be mean :hihi: but i am wondering if I might be missing something?????
