....? I guess? Give Paul time... He turned around ND in FAAAAR worse circumstances... Even if we'd lost 1-0 tonight, our record would still stand the same.
all of UK hits for the season have come from 11 players, so, if they are hot, they'll be hot for the whole game. with that said, every team has a game like tonight where they just get hammered to the ground. it happens, we'll still take at least one of the games
We knew what we were getting into before the season started and sometimes, with the situation our program is in, it's better to focus on the progress of the team as a whole while our new coach builds the program back up. I don't think anyone expected us to win the SEC this year so let's just support our team, they'll need it. :thumb:
It is hurts to see the team get beat like this, but the Tigers will be back. The previous post is correct, support the Tigers and give PM some time. The 16 runs hurt, but did you see what USC did to MS State --- beat them 20 to 3 - so everyone has these games and these series from time to time.
Hopefully most knowledgeable fans understand that this is a process. We didn't just bring in another coach that was part of a previous system, we brought in a new approach. It is going to take time to install. I would much rather see this team take it's lumps at this stage of PM's process than later on down the line in years 3, 4 etc. These early challenges should help build the character and unity of the team which should translate into greater success in the end. It's WIP (Work in Progress) not RIP.
FWIW, anytime your SP gives up 6 hits and 6 ER in like 2 innings, and you're playing a team with like a .360 BA, what do you expect? LSU's pitching is so inconsistent that it's hard to fathom sometimes, but it can only get better. I over-estimated this team a bit in the off-season, but I didn't realize our talent level was so poor. Damn you, Smoke, damn you.
Alabama beat us much worse one year... we repaid the favor to win the CWS. Losing that bad isn't that big of a deal. We can still win the series and then no one will care about Friday's game.
I think Kentucky deserves some credit, too. They are a good ball club. We didn't get beat by some scrubs.
I just told my stepdad the score (he and mom are on vacation in Ft. Morgan) and he just about cried. He loves LSU baseball more than football, but just a little bit less than recruiting. This transitional stage we're in is ok- there's a lot of uncertainity in the program at this point that will resolve itself eventually. Between a new coach, a stadium that just won't get built, etc., it's understandable that this green team has some issues at the bat. At least our defense is... whoops. 16 runs.
