I came across this nugget this morning and found it of interest. With all the things we've read about how much the Arkansas fan base is upset with the Nutt regime it lead me to wonder if he could have done something, besides win more games, that could have made the fan base in Ark. feel more a part of what was going on within the Hog program. It appears so... I know Miles is part of a call-in show from a local bar/bistro where he takes calls and comments from fans during the season. Saban is scheduled to do the same thing from a former players restuarant, Bob Baumhowers Wings, during the season and make a few appearances in the off-season. Richt has his show. Ogre has his...as do Meyer and Fulmer. Nutt? He happens to be the only coach in the SEC that doesn't have and cultivate this relationship with the fan base. It's funny when I think about it. Nutt had a show that was broadcast the first few years he was at Arkansas. But, affiliates with ARSN ended up getting a bit ticked off about the Thursday night broadcast because they had to have to pay someone to turn their computer off at night for the show. (computer driven night time broadcasting). These past few months such a show would have given the fan base an opportunity to hear the story directly from the horses mouth, so to speak. PR blunder? Seems likely...and, it also seems high time for Arkansas to join the rest of the college world. We are lucky, fortunate maybe, that we have the ability to keep up with our respective programs. However, it's important to note that there are still a good number of fans who's only contact is from radio outlets/print media.
Re: Radio shows and SEC coaches: I'm not suprised Ark. fans feel ostracized from Nutt That's surprising. I thought all Div I programs had a coaches' call-in show. It's usually added into the employment contract as a way of padding the salary. Shoot, even ULL of L has a coach's radio show.
Re: Radio shows and SEC coaches: I'm not suprised Ark. fans feel ostracized from Nutt That's a great point. I didn't think about that when I was reading about him not having a show this morning. IF I'm not mistaken I've seen his TV spot on FSN during the football season. Monday's, perhaps?
