I hate to hear all of the bashing of Marcus Randall. He is a TRUE Tiger. He has stuck with the Tigers through and through. He could have left us (see L. Ricard, R. Clausen) but he stayed even though he knew he would not start last year and that Russell and Flynn would be pushing him for playing time this year. He has been very loyal to us and we should be loyal to him. Questioning the man's quarterbacking ability is fair, but I have heard some on the radio and other forums call him a "bum" or worse. Randall does not deserve this. He could have went over and sulked on the bench and started complaining after Saban put in Russell. He understood that he was not doing the job and that a change was needed. He kept his head in the game and he was ready both times that he was needed. We would not have won if not for Marcus Randall. I understand that Russell is the better QB and I hope that he is the starter from now on, but please do not question Randall's loyalty, heart, or passion for LSU. Randall is the type of person that I am proud to say is a LSU Tiger. He is a true fan of the Tigers and I will always admire him for the person that he is. I just wish that he could put it together and become a great QB, but I do not see that happening. He will be a successfull person off of the field and he will make LSU proud in some other field. So ease up on the man and root for whoever is our QB. :geaux:
Well said. I hope that he gets a degree from LSU and he is able to go places with that if football doesn't work out for him.
well on the radio i hear a lot of callers call him a bum, but it seems to me the hosts of the shows still love him
I respect Marcus for staying at LSU and think from what I've heard, he is a wonderful person. I wish him the best no matter what happens, I'd love to see him have a breakout year similar to Ro's last year or just copy Matt's last year. I've never bashed him, all I ever said was that he was outplayed by a freshman and I believe he was. May the best man wish with this QB situation, I just want LSU to win but our offense has to do more than they did on Saturday nite or we're in trouble. This whole situation reminds me when Booty was replaced by Ro in the peach bowl and we rallied to beat GT, Ro was the man and the leader from then on. I'm not saying this is going to happen but it could.
No question he is a Tiger. The question is if he is our best QB. He may be the best in practice but when it comes to the game.....I dunno. He reminds me of me and my golf game, I'm about a 4 handicap on the range and a 10 on the golf course! :hihi: :geaux:
I agree with your assessment . Marcus Randle has handled himself with class and dignity. I never ever will bad mouth the person when talking football. I dont know why but Marcus just doesnt seem to be able to be a consistent quarterback. He shows glimpses of good play but can not seem to play at a high level play in and play out. Do i think that he shouldnt see playing time i dont know. What i do know is Jamarcus Russell is the future of LSU. He must see playing time in order to get experience. Marcus Randall should see time to keep his skills sharp. GEAUX Tigers
I couldnt agree more, well said. I'm in favor of turning more to Jamarcus now, he's the better qb without a doubt. However, I am glad to see MR stay in the mix and hopefully develop further. This Marcus bashing is for the birds, he is one of us. The booing sucks too, I really wish people would stop that CR%P. Thats a nice way to scare off recruits too.
Gulf Coast Tiger, thanks for starting this thread. You are right that no one should question Randall's character or heart. He has been very loyal to the program, and he tries his best to help the team when he is out there. Most of us couldn't succeed at QB for LSU, and that doesn't make us lousy bums. Attacking Randall's character is very uncool and uncalled for. I do, however, agree with what seems to be the majority opinion that Jamarcus Russell has earned the right to be our starting QB against ASU.
