What do you guys think? Will we be in the top 25 when the final poll comes out? We blew out the number 14 ranked team in the country and showed real strength doing so.

    I think it's a real possibility.

    I got us at #22.

A close win and I don't think we would have been ranked.

But we dominated this team and the voters will see our QB situation is obviously solved.

I'll take that. After what I saw last night - the best #22 team of the decade!

I hope we end in the top 25, so much better than unranked. It will also help position us for the start of next season, to climb into the second ten. From there, its what the kids can earn.

After the performance last night I don't see us being left out. I think islstl has it right.

We'll be ranked. The voters all know that we're loaded with talent, and they know we had our problems this year.

The LSU team that took the field last night, IMO, is a top-10 calibur team. Our boys played at a high level in all 3 phases of the game last night and completely dominated a solid GaTech team.

I give praise to the Defense for their tough, physical play.... Praise to Mallory and Peveto for getting them ready..... Praise to Crowton for getting JJ ready... Praise to JJ for making all of those plays... and Praise to Miles for orchestrating it all.

    The future looks bright!!!

My hunch is that we simply swap rankings with Georgia Tech and wind up 14th. There will be some blowouts in the remaining bowls that will shake up the final rankings (Utah, Penn State, Clemson, Cincinnati, Ohio State, etc.) There are also a lot of "tier two" teams that had great seasons and are over ranked (Ball State, Northwestern, BYU, etc).

At the end of the day, LSU is better than the following teams and the final rankings should reflect this:

    BYU
    Ball State
    Michigan State
    Georgia Tech
    Missouri
    Northwestern
    Pitt
    TCU
    Utah
    Boise State
    Oregon State

Hey Herb, Isn't USC a tier two team?

That would be GREAT but it won't happen. There's no precedence for a team jumping 15(ish) spots based on one quality win...especially if the SEC (who pretty much had its way with us) has a mediocre showing in the bowls.

We better at least pass up Georgia Tech in the polls.
