Great news for DD and he deserves it. It's good to see such a nice guy earn his reward for all the hard work he put in. Not many gave him a chance of being a quality every down back but Davis is proving a lot of people wrong.

Ya know, when he was at LSU, I thought he was better than Toefield. Toe probably had better size and speed, but when he got hurt, DD always seemed to have better production. Maybe it was instinct for where tacklers were coming from, or going a little slower he could make a cut where Toe couldn't, but his production seemed better to me. Some of the doubts about DD come from the observation that "he couldn't even win the starting job at LSU".

I thought on production, he should have won it. Just my opinion.

More and more, we're seeing a crapload of top-flight RBs at the top programs (LSU, USC, Texas). I mean, if you have a Ricky Williams and a Priest Holmes on the same team, you can play 'em both, but you have to get both on the field. Same went for Caddy and Ronnie Brown and for this current LSU team (Addai will play on Sundays, bank on it).

You can't have a feature back in the traditional sense when you have so, so much talent at RB.

    Randall Gay is way underpaid.

<<‘‘It's real nice that they put that in for players like me who didn't get a big signing bonus or anything like that,'' said Gay, one of the NFL's best bargains last season when he started 12 games while making the league minimum of $230,000.>>

I loved DD my 2 favorite memories of him were him going crazy in the Sugar Bowl and the stiff arm he threw to texas in the cotton bowl.

Not bad for someone who isn't going to be Houston's #1 RB according to some folks here huh?

Class move on the part of the Texans and a great example provided by DD. If only every player and team could operate in such good faith, the NFL would be in an even better position. Makes us proud to call DD our own!!! Great work DD and Casserly.
