I wake up this morning, hoarse, sore, a little hung over, and expect to read some good post about a very hard fought football game. I'm feeling pretty good due to the fact that we just beat the closest thing we have for a real rival. What I read here is more of the constant coach bashing and second guessing that is becoming common place. Not by all, granted, but how can anyone not be happy with our Tigers and coaching staff after last nights game? Our first year SEC coach, and staff, took down Tubby. Our QB got us back in the mix twice after going behind. The atmosphere at Tiger Stadium was amazing. Both teams knew what was at stake, just like in the Florida game, and we came out ahead. I went over to the AU board, just to see how bad they were bad mouthing us, and couldn't believe what I was reading. After losing a game, they are still supportive and positive about their team? No one seems upset with the coach? Surely, it must be the coaches fault they lost. Right? Cox threw some bad passes. Why aren't they screaming for Tubby to replace him? I can't believe that I am writing this, AU is showing more class after a loss than some on here do after a win. http://www.aunation.net/forums/index.php?showforum=2
You are 100% correct. This board is getting harder and harder to stomach, even after a big win. The bitchers and moaners are bound and determined to keep their crap up until we suffer a loss and then, look out. There's one thread about Miles being a stupid coach or something and another about bad paycalling. I won't even open those because I know what kind of stupidity is being posted there. What a bunch of babies.
b/c we all want the God "Saban" Well for all of those out there: Did we beat Auburn last year? Thank you!
Great post, Salty. I hate to agree with you, but I agree with you. I went to the AU board to look around, and there is not all the whining we have over hear after a solid and hard fought WIN. It is about class and unity and supporting each other, and if this board reflects the feelings of our fan base in general, we have a ways to go. We are 5-1, #7 in the nation, that's the facts, and I am happy about it. We are light years ahead of Archer, Hallman, Dinardo.
He's a liar. He also breaks his own rules by criticizing others yet those others are attacked by him if they criticize anyone or anything. I've tried to change and have a better attitude this morning but some posters here just want to pick a fight no matter what. I said I was happy with the win and was really pleased with our defense and special teams but was disappointed with our offense and the playcalling and for that I get attacked.
Actually I was not really disappointed with the play calling. Maybe I'm wrong but I think Auburn keyed on Addai yet he still had over 100 yards and they did try to get Green more touches. Addai was an ankle tackle away a few times from busting a few huge runs. We dropped a few crucial passes plus JR was playing a little hurt and Auburn had a great defense going......so.......I thought we did okay actually. But then again I'm not a very good X and O man so what do I know?
I am glad there are fans thatvmaintains a positive attitude to balance the ones with the negatives. As for the coaching staff, overall I think it's quite good. For the offense , there's still a lot of flavor of Jimbo in it; there are problems with players' inconsistent plays which the coach can help only to a certain extent; the players have to take charge themselves. For the defense, minus the slow start, they are playing close to their potential and is just very good; I don't think any fans have much complaints about them. And for the special teams, a vast improvement over the past years - that should be a credit to Miles and staff who stressed the importance of this part of the team, and they delivered. So,...........what's the problem??????????????? To keep things in perspective, look at South Carolina and Florida with first year coaching staff, and see the results. There is too much fast food mentality in the LSU fanbase. BE real fans and support the team, win or lose. A bit too much whining and backseat quarterbacking. The Auburn fan web site puts us to shame, sometimes. ________ Indica Strains
