This is a good read. The press is starting to figure out and report what is really going on with Saban at Bama. Saban had it great at LSU. I remember Saban saying in Houston, Texas after winning the NC "Why would I want to coach anywhere elese in college football then LSU, you own the Lousisana recruiting and you play in the SEC. Why would anyone want to coach at Alabama where you have to compete with other schools and Alabama history." www.al.com/sports/mobileregister/nmccready.ssf?/base/sports/1170239019197080.xml&coll=3
Wouldn't matter. We would kill Bama....$$$$$ would pull a Matt Leinart and say how Bama is actually better than LSU and we'd be talking about it for the whole next year,
I don't understand the hostility towards coach Saban. I think that he and his family love LSU, and would have loved to go back there. When they made the decision to go back to college football, you guys did not have an opening. Hey, we would take your present coach...he's good, and we needed somone badly. The Florida fans were not as upset with Spurrier when he came back and went to South Carolina. He would have gone to Florida if they had offered him the job, but they didn't and he had to do what he had to do to be happy, and it was to get out of the pros. I think that the same thing is true with Coach Saban. I think that he would have loved to go back to LSU, but there was not an opening, and he had to take an offer that came, and especially since we were willing to pay. If he had stayed in the pros, and maybe lost his job next year, would he have been able to get such a salary from a college team. Hey, maybe I answered a question that I had myself. We should have kept Shula one more year, and maybe next year we could have gotten Saban a lot cheaper.
