I pre-ordered a copy weeks and weeks ago, and Amazon dropped my copy off on my porch today.

Here's the first two sentences from the inside dust cover:

"He guided LSU to its first national championship in 45 years. He turned down numerous offers from professional teams to stay with the job he loves..."

If I come across any other interesting excerpts, I'll post them here today.

Saban was scheduled to be at Barnes and Noble (Baton Rouge) for the book signing on Jan. 17 I believe. The people working there said it was up in the air. They didn't know if it was still on.

I doubt he'll do it in Baton Rouge if he does the signing at all! He might want to do that book signing in Miami considering that's where he'll be in a few weeks!

Wonder if you send it to him with that page book-marked and ask him to sign it for you, if you'd ever get it back???

I would not buy Nick's book. If I had ordered it before this mess, I'd get a refund and send it back.

In 24 hours, Nick Saban will be the new HC of the Super Bowl bound (in 2005) Miami Dolphins. Nick needs to get a new dust jacket with a picture of him in Dolphin gear and sell that book somewhere else . . . NOT in Louisiana.

If you don't mind, post a review after you finish. I'm undecided whether or not I'm going to buy it and would welcome your thoughts.

I am sure that the publisher had a contract requiring book signings on certain dates. He'll probably have to show up for something.

I almost went out of pure curiousity. And to get my copy of Les Miles's photo signed. Oh, wrong coach...

    Saban signed more than books

Coach Saban more than books at Barnes and Nobles. My friend, Steve Kleinpeter, had a Fonville photograph of the stadium from 1930 that he presented to Coach Saban. Then when Steve told him that he really wanted his signature on a
16 x 20 of the Stadium (that he wants to raffle off for our fellow parishioner and teacher at St. Aloysius, Linda A. , who had a recent bone marrow transplant,) Nick told him to go get it. The Barnes and Noble people wanted Steve to wait, but Nick said, "No, we will do this now." The Sabans are members of our parish and very classy people. He was very nice to do that. :thumb:
I hope that the raffle goes well, because Linda and Chris A. are two of the nicest people that I have ever met! I think the tickets will be 5$ a piece for a framed 16x 20 Fonville photograph of Tiger Stadium in 1930 that is signed by Nick Saban.
I am going to really miss the Sabans.
