LSU break the #1 team in the Nation's 26 game winning streak, handing the Lady Vols their worst loss of the season! The crowd attendance beat the previous LSU record by more than 800- 2,326 tickets sold........In all honesty, I think I'd heard it was over 1700 actual attendance- even still, largest crowd...........did someone leak that Tiga was going to be there?? :hihi: Our three Seniors were honored- that's why, if you saw on tv. (Don't know if they said it) their numbers, 6,10, & 1 (Kristen Hobbs, Leslie Klein and Emily Turner, respectively) were painted on the field. Boy will they be missed. A couple of game notes if anyone would happen to be interested: In the second game, LSU had nine hits, the most allowed by Tennessee all season. Klein’s was 3-for-3 in the second game and went yard on a 1-2 pitch to put LSU ahead, 5-1. She had all 5 rbi’s in the game. She tied former Tiger Julie Wiese for the LSU career home run record with her 31st blast. Emily’s record is now 16-5 on the season. Tennessee brings the sticks, she held a very potent team to one run on five hits with three walks and four strikeouts. I got to talk to her a good while before the game. When I went to sit in the stands, some of the OTHER wives in our group were laughing. Told me they’d asked my wife where I was and she said, “OH, talkin to Emily Turner”. :hihi: My wife knows how much I think of ET after she so kindly signed autographs for my 8 year old team last year. I was watching Carrolton All Stars (We were going to play them) and told one of their parents that they girl in the dugout looked A LOT like Emily Turner that pitched for LSU. She said, "It is". Nobody, outside their following had recognized her but after the game, when my team went to meet her, the word got out. I apologized to her and her boyfriend (Who was a champ about it to). Told them I didn't mean to tie her up. He said she really enjoyed doing stuff like that for fans. I remember her saying, "This makes me feel special". I told her she was special......she pitched for LSU. :thumb: Dani Hofer suffered only her second loss of the season- she’s a sophomore who looks very promising. In the first game, Shannon Stein hit the wall and went 2-3 in a game with only 4 hits. They play again tomorrow at 1:00. Tennessee’s pitcher, Monica Abbott, is 6 strikeouts shy of an NCAA record........unfortunately there’s NO WAY she won’t break it tomorrow. Some pics from the game:
Did he offer any thoughts as to whether or not it had to do with TF celebrity Tiga being there?? My fingers are sore from signing autographs. :hihi:
I'm perfectly happy with the one I got- takes a special person to put up with me, I ain't going nowhere- she knows that. :thumb: Funny story though, when I went to my seat after talking to ET before the game, one of the wives said that if something ever happened to my wife, I'd be after ET. My wife laughed and said, "Probably" but I explained to the lady what my wife already knew, that I had a lot of respect for her cause she, despite her success, is as down to earth and sincere as they come. I posted in another thread what she did for my softball team last year, and after I'd broken her cover, several other teams lined up for autos too. She sincerely seemed to relish the attention and genuinely not mind making a bunch of 7 & 8 year olds (And their dads  ) happy by endulging them. She is really a trooper.....we're gonna miss her.
Thanks Terry, we'll be watching closely this weekend when Tenn. hosts Alabama. I always hated to play a strong team who was coming off of a loss- much less two in a row (after a 26 game win streak). Good luck this weekend. :thumb:
In the SEC, yes. We're all (LSU, Tenn, Bama) 21-4 in SEC play. Overall, LSU is 48-8, Tenn. and Bama are 51-4. When tommorrow's poll comes out, there'll be 3 SEC teams ranked 1, 2, & 3 in the Nation......oh, and FLORIDA isn't one of 'em.
