Auburn went behind his back last year by meeting with Petrino. Would Tubs come to LSU to spite Auburn?

I think the powers that be at LSU are smart enough NOT to offer him a contract.

No one, I repeat, NO ONE, wants Tubs as their coach

not even most Auburn people. Think about it. Tubby had an undefeated year and many schools have had openings: Florida, Ole Miss, Illinois, USC East, and several NFL teams. Despite having the ubiquitous Jimmy Sexton as his agent, Tubby was not linked to one, NOT ONE, of those jobs, except for LSU. And the link to the LSU job was total fabrication probably put out by Sexton himself to help fuel a new extension for a little more money. LSU officials have denied interest in Tubs, and Tubs has said he's not interested and no contact was made.

The sad fact of Tubby's coaching existence now is that he had better win 9 or more games every year or the Bobby Lowder crew will be after him again, and will probably be a little smarter about it than they were with Petrino last year. Unless Tubby can get himself hired away prior to that happening, he's like a long-tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.

Yeah, I'm sure Tuberville's buyout had nothing to do with Skip not considering him as a candidate...Tuberville sucks. He can't win anything. :dis:

Actually, it was the outcry of the Auburn people that probably saved his job last year. Don't speak about things of which you know precious little.

    That's good advice. Take it.

Yeah, that $3.5 million buyout plus what they'd have to pay him to come (at least more than the $1.3 million he was making at Auburn) had nothing to do with it at all.

Which is why his new contract is reported to contain a buyout clause of almost $7 million...payable by Auburn if they fire him and by CTT or another school if he leaves. Do you actually read the newspapers before you line birdcages with them?

I think Tubby's new contract had much less to do with us not offering the job than with the fact that WE DON'T WANT TUBBERVILLE!

Whatever makes you feel better. I actually think you guys weren't that interested in him too, but not for the reasons you think. He's a good recruiter and has proven he can rebuild a program into a winner. But fact is, I don't think the LSU fan base would have been keen on him given all the water under the bridge between he and thee.
