Revolution TV show

  1. wjray .-.. ..- -.- .

Revolution was mentioned on the Walking Dead thread and I figured I'd start a thread of its own for those who watch the show.

I've watched it from the beginning and my overall reaction is "Meh."

I really enjoyed the first three or so seasons of "Lost" then got pissed when the writers created more questions without answering the questions they had already raised. I finished out watching the series mostly because I had too much time invested not to see how it (badly) ended.

I was apprehensive when I heard that JJ Abrams was behind Revolution because Lost was so dragged out, but decided to give it a shot anyway.

I'll give them this, they're not dragging it out in terms of actually moving the story. [There are probably some spoilers in the following, might want to skip if you've not seen all of the episodes yet.]

In the pilot a central (though not main) character was killed and a couple of episodes ago a main character was killed. The band of wanderers has actually made some progress and done some things and now the story seems to be re-locating from the Mid West to the East Coast.

On the other hand, why the hell is the power still out? Fifteen years?!?!? Doesn't anybody not in possession of a pendant have ANY ideas? Is it some sort of EMP or some "force" that suppresses power? Just because the power went out, does that necessarily mean you can't EVER generate any more? Why not use wind power? Or solar?

I have thought that all of the references to Stephen King have been kind of cool, though.

Agree with your overall reaction. Meh!

Given that a militia has been actively consolidating power, it's amazing how the main characters stroll along without any real challenge. In a real-world scenario they'd probably all be dead by now.

Too many minutes of the series have been devoted to, "Hey! Are you coming with me/supporting me/helping me look for my brother/because we're family?"

They kill off an attractive character with a knife to the thigh; next episode, they show another main character get a knife in the belly; a few hours later she's walking with the rest of the group, keeping up, nary a limp. NFW! Take it from a surgeon. NFW!

What BS. As soon as my DVR starts to fill with Walking Dead, Justified & other good stuff, I'm GONE!

I can sort of swallow not being challenged too much as they move around. The population was likely decimated in the immediate aftermath of the outage so populating density is likely pretty low. And the remaining population probably has a high transient segment. OTOH, when you're in a town, probably everyone knows everyone else so strangers are out of place. And if the militias have such power, why not issue ID cards that have to be shown when you encounter them?

I'm also very tired of the "you have to come because we're family" thing.

And even I was skeptical of the knife to the belly but up and walking minutes later. Just didn't make good sense.

I'll hang in a little longer, 'cause I like the survivalist genre--but they're really testing my patience! LOL.

    1. the chick is hot
    2. the show is clearly unbearable and i dont understand how a human being could stand to watch it for one second.
  6. gynojunkie "Pooties R Us"

So, Martin? Either you observed the show & saw the hot chick in less than 1.00 seconds, or you are by your own definition not a human being!

Confess, Martin! You ogled the girl--maybe even kept the DVR of the show!

    Confess!

Yeah I'm not usually much on these type of shows and I didn't see the first one or two, not sure where I jumped in but for some reason I will watch it again, at least for a few more shows.

i cant stop ogling her, i am confronted with her hotness during every commercial beak and poster in the subway. never seen the show though, no idea which network or when it is on. looks like an embarrassment to human civilization.
