Richard Dawkins

one of my personal jesuses*, richard dawkins, has recently become even more vocal and aggressive in his battle against the foolishness of religion. his new book, "the god delusion", is basically a reminder of all things he (and i) have been trying so hard telll everyone for years. i think he is the most important person in the world today, specifically because he doesnt take a passive attitude towards reasonless faith.

anyways, i was happy to find he has done an interview on NPR's science friday, which i listen to in podcast form every week.

i heartily encourage everyone to listen to him and read his book.

there are billions of non christians, do you pray for all of them? can you bunch them together or does god like it better when you actually mention them to him specifically?

if you get multiple people to join you and pray for something, how much more likely does that makes it that god will listen? i figure god probably starts listening at a few hundred.

i would but you won't answer. i guess the answer is that whatever magical thing you want to be true is true. but is embarassing to admit it, i wouldnt admit it either if i were you.

on some level it has to make you uncomfortable that you believe something so silly that you realize you can't discuss it because it is totally senseless. i guess you cant admit that though.

you cannot answer, because the answer is so absurd as to be laughable. it seems to me that there is a point at which lying to yourself ceases to be comforting, and becomes sad instead.
