I've just took a ruler out and followed the straight line it's moving right now, and if it continued the exact same direction it's been going for the past few hours, that line would go through Galvaston Bay. I've also drawn a line through the first segment of the NHC Project path, and that shows it going much more to the SW. Now, that's what it would do if it went straight the entire way. Every forcast we see obvious has it turning toward the north. That would now say to me that This thing will not hit any further WEST than Galvaston Bay. I would think all margin for error would be to the East at this point.
I've been calling between Galveston and Sabine Pass since it was east of Florida.. sucks when I'm right..
Wow, this is unreal, watching Fox News and they are saying that the storm is assisting the high pressure system, moving east and that will make the Cane go north. This sure looks ugly for the whole state of Louisiana. The eastern part of this cane is huge and I take it that if this happens today our game will be cancelled not to mention Baton Rouge is in store for a Major Hurricane.
Ya, those straight lines are not realistic. The storm has already taken a turn to the northwest based on the most recent updated from the NOAA. This storm looks to be hitting right around Lake Charles and the tx-la border. Game is gonna be cancelled Im afraid.
Right, if you read my earlier post, I said that this was only the straight line route, which, I believe, is the western most it will go. I believe any variation to the track will be toward Louisiana. My intent was not to say that it would go on that straight line, it was actually to say the opposite. The intent was to show that the NHC projected path was already off to the east. This will only start shifting more east over the day I believe and I think that by the end of the day or tomorrow the project path will be more toward the state line.
It is important to note that the UKMET model was run at 8am this morning and is more accurate that the rest. Most of those were run at 2am and 8pm last night. :cuss: :cuss: :cuss:
