So is LaFell. And Perrilloux sounded like he is going to LSU. Come on MB tonight on Fox Sports TV at 8:30 or 10:00.
What all do we know about RJ Jackson? He's a 4 star athlete out of Texas listed as Athlete... Any idea what position this kid will go to at college?
Looking very good.....I wonder if RP had talked to these guys letting them know he was coming. It will be very interesting for MB. That would make it a heck of a package deal. ________ The cigar boss
Posted this on the recruiting forum, but here is a video of RJ Jackson: www.mvpsolution.com/rj.jackson.1.avi I think we're recruiting him to play RB even though he is an excellent safety prospect also.
RJ Jackson 5-11 200lbs 4.55 forty Recruited by Texas, Florida, Ok St, TCU, Texas Tech, Nebraska and several others. 10th ranked RB in the country by Scout. Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As a senior Jackson rushed for over 700 yards (nine yards per carry), had over 800 receiving yards (20 yards per catch) and totalled 34 touchdowns. Defensively he had 30 tackles and seven interceptions. He had 1,038 yards rushing and 19 TDs on 106 carries as a junior. Also had 337 yards and 5 TDs on 18 receptions. On defense, recorded 41 tackles and seven picks. Jackson bench presses 250 and squats 405. He carries a 3.1 GPA and 1090 SAT. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Honors: Named first team All-Greater Houston as a utility back last year on offense. Was also named first team all-league on defense and was the Defensive POY for the league. Scouting Report: A do-it-all back who can be physical, make you miss, catch out of the backfield and execute his blocking assignments, Jackson shows a similar game to that of Tatum Bell. Jackson: "I have great vision and elusiveness. I also have good game speed. I'm a slasher and make quick moves and cut back plays. I still want to improve my explosiveness and 40 speed. I'd like to get stronger too."
Brandon LaFell 6-3 170 lbs WR 4.5 forty 34th ranked WR by scout Recruited by Florida, Nebraska, Arizona, Mizzou and Okie St. 34th ranked WR in the country by Scout. Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As a senior (8-4), La Fell caught 46 passes for 1,116 yards and 16 touchdowns. Defensively he had 70+ tackles and eight interceptions (four returned for TDs). La Fell also returned two punts for scores. La Fell recorded 39 catches for 512 yards with nine touchdowns as a junior. La Fell reports a 2.9 GPA and has a 720 SAT--retake unset; Dec 10 ACT is unreported. Scouting Report: La Fell simply gets open and catches the football. Not real shiny as he makes it look easy. He just gets it done. Really just now beginning to come into his own. He does, however, wow you when it's a jump ball as the kid sports serious hops. He'll need to get stronger, tougher and more experience, but is expected to be featured, along with Quincy Driver, as the weapons in next year's Lamar O, if they can find a QB to get them the ball. Coach's Comments: "He was our go-to guy at the wide reciver position last year. And he has a lot of upside," Lamar head coach Tom Nolen said.
I read his transcripts from his interview following his Florida visit. They wanted to use him as an "H-back" --RB/WR --similar to how we lined up Jacob Hester and Addai as WR's on certain formations. Now, I'm not sure if that's how WE are going to use him or what....
