Nonsense. Mettenberger and Rivers have been groomed for this for two years. Bolden is insurance, period.
Mett isn't a statue but needs to do a better job of recognizing a blitz or an unblocked defender. That big hit he took was pue inexperience. He should have pointed the guy out and audibled because he was not going to be picked up. The OL has to do a better job but you can't block everyone. Putting the team in the right protection is the job of the QB and OL. Again, Mett can run but isn't a running QB at 6' 5". It will get better.
