I saw a recent concert of theirs on Paladia about a year ago, and I am not one for replacements of iconic lead singers, but this dude just did his thing. I was thoroughly impressed and it kept me entertained the entire show. I guess they are doing a movie about this improbable life altering event that took place whereby he got the gig to be the frontman for Journey. http://music.yahoo.com/blogs/heard/rock-doc-tells-amazing-fairy-tale-story-journey-224656407.html
Yeah I'm not a fan of the new "Steve Perry", well, because there is only 1 Steve Perry and this flip aint him. Perfect example of when people should just let it go, its over.
I'm with ya, Izzy. I saw that same concert a while back and was pretty dang impressed with the guy. It's uncanny how much he sounds like Perry.
Yep -- the new guy sounds a lot like Perry, amazing... Close your eyes and you would swear it is Perry. Journey used to be one of my faves in college; however, now, all you hear is "Don't Stop Believin." They have so many more even better songs that you never hear.
Opinion possibly, perhaps it is a tuned ear. I can pick them apart 100 out of 100 times. New jack is good, but not Steve Perry good.
Wheel in the Sky I think is still my favorite of theirs. So many other songs better than Don't Stop Believin too lol. But yeah I get ya.
