and randall hasnt deserved his? the guy has played behind booty, davey, mauck, rick clausen and now jamarcus russell, and how many times did he complain about it, umm lets see, hes never complained about playing time ever, hes quietly led the team and never caused any problems, after russell threw that td pass to skyler guess who was one of the first to greet him, MARCUS RANDALL, if you watch the game tape, the first half you tell me one time where he was not knocked down, the offensive line was awful last night, he had zero running game, and the play calling was reminiscent of ole miss 01 hes had 5 years of practice, basically all that time just to sit on the bench, yea russell deserves playing time for what he did, but lets not forget randalls 5 years of pain and sacrafice, ups and downs, over one bad half of football, this is marcus randall's team right now lets give him a chance, and not all go into the rebuilding phase just because marcus had a bad HALF of football, you know he kinda won the game by coming in there, after being booed at by his HOME STADIUM, taken out, to listen to the cheers for russell, and he still comes in, cool and collected to score that winning score, randall has earned his shot, and lets see what he can do next week, on a dry field, with a running game and a much better gameplan

must have missed that, but you have to agree with me that if the offensive line play doesnt get better, the quarter back play wont improve too much, i dont care who you have back there, if you dont have time, you cant execute the play

Are u saying he hasn't had his chance?

Excuse me but he got his chance in 2002, he also got to play some early last
year and wasn't able to beat out the starter.

He got his chance to shine in the OSU game as a starter also and didn't do
zilch, a freshman came in an out played him.

He's had at least 3 chances to show what he can do.

Why is it when someone hangs around he has to always have a zillion chances?

Maybe some of the other players should get a chance??

    Nice article btw

I feel sorry for Randall not being able to be the starter since he has been such a true tiger; but we need to realize we want to win and we have the best chance to win with JR. This is football, put ur best out on the field, line up and play ball.

You're right, he's played behind all those guys and been happy with it. Maybe that's because he's complacent with second best. Not the QB I'd pick for a National Championship team.

I wouldn't say that at all. He wants what is best for the team. He's thinking about the team not himself.

You know...I put this lunatic fringe Tiger Fan on ignore a long time ago...But, because I felt obligated to find out all viewpoints on the situation before beginning to formulate or change my own...I decided to read his posts on this subject...

Now I know why he's on Ignore...

As for the specific parts of your quote...I want to address them...

As for spouting off...Do you even think before you started spouting off?

As for the "obvious" reason why Saban started Randall...Are you now saying that Nick Saban lies to the public about his principles and philosophies? You are saying that he started someone because of an obligation. Those are YOUR OWN WORDS.

Saban has continually said he will put the best 11 on the field. The best player at each position that gives us a chance to win. Do you refute this, Fightin(Insanity)TIGER?

Either Nick Saban has been lying to us, or if you disagree with this statement, and can't point to where Nick Saban has ever said something about starting those he's "obligated" to start, then YOU are lying.

So...Nick Saban...a man whom LSU has made the highest paid college football coach in American history...has been lying to the fans all along? Bennie Brazell was actually better than Michael Clayton all these years? Adrian Mayes was left to start the remainder of last year even in the face of continual blown assignments because Saban was "obligated" to a fifth year senior who the fans admired and loved?

Which is it, FightinTIGER....Is Nick Saban lying, or are you just-as always-full of human feces?

Do you need a lifeline, there, numbnut?

I would also like to point out, that in my personal opinion...Russell should be the starter for the rest of the season...Flynn should be the next individual in...

That's just my personal opinion now...and as all of you know, I am the single biggest supporter of Marcus Randall on this site...But, the time has come to give others the opportunity.

At some point, you stop waiting for opportunities to fall into your lap, and you carve one out of your own...Marcus has never been able to do so...

I hope I am wrong...But I just saw fear in him on Saturday...The last three throws of the 1st half were obviously throws of a scared, frightened player...and we don't need him out there if he can't control his emotions in the face of adversity...

JaMarcus Russell faced adversity, faced physical pain, a lack of protection, new receivers, the very outcome of a season hung in the balance of his long limbs...and he responded...

Randall did not when given the opportunity...I commend him...but the gap between the two is so close now that it will only continue to recede in Randall's disfavor and Russell's favor...I say that the more Russell plays, the better he will become. It's simple logic...and I think that he is our future...and the future is now...
