Saban on 98.1 right now. Does not sound happy.

He gets spicy when you "thank him for making the switch"

He was upset at WAFB for their poll. I guess Randall's parents called him or something.

this all just makes me nervous about what hes gonna do. i can tell what i thought was so great about russell, he looked more like the senior than randall did. he make bad passes but looked composed for the most part. just look at the throws he make while being tackled, he actuallt stood up against the taked for a few seconds and then made the throw and not just throw it in the stands which brings me to the thing that seemed to be the point when the boos started. with little time left in the half on third down after two incomplete passes randall throws the ball way out of bounds instead of either tucking it and running or just drop but don't stop the clock. what i seen saturday night is what randall has done in almost every game i've seen him play so i just don't know how much i would blame his performance on the conditions. i just don't want to see us lose a game giving him a chance in the first half against a good sec team and not being able to come back. remember when randall and mauch were battling for the job in 2002, saban said the same thing, its too clsoe to call a starter until the beginning of the season and then matt is the starter, then he gets hurt and randall doesn't play close to what matt was doing. then 2003 spring, same thing, too close to name a starter until the start of the season then matts the starter and you know what he did in 2003. what was with the its too close when it was clear that matt was a much better qb. now look at this season, is randall really good in practice but not in the game? after tonight i have a feeling that randall will be the starter and probably for the auburn game also and i just hope if he plays bad saban doesn't wait till half time to make the switch. damn, sorry bout that, i just went off the subject a little:grin:

The time to make the switch is now so JR's first start isn't on the road at AU. As poor as both QB's played it's clear that Russell played better and has the most potential to improve. I understand Saban supporting a 5th year Sr that has shown loyalty and commitment to the program but it looks like it is time to go in a different direction for the good of the team. That being said I don't think Saban will start Randall if he doesn't feel it is best for the team. Looks like we will be left guessing until Saturday night, oh well it gives us something to talk about.:hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: :hihi:
