Does anyone have the published Jeff Sagarin polls from the 2 weeks prior to this week's poll? Maybe you do DarkHornet? If anyone does, could you please post the top 10 from those 2 listings. Again, I am not asking for this week's listing. The two week's prior to that is what I need. Thanks. If Florida surpasses Michigan in this poll, I think it will be the deciding factor putting Florida ahead of Michigan in the BCS. And right now that poll is too much of a tossup to call.
I ran the numbers one last time. If Sagarin goes Florida's way, they need only 10 voters to switch their positioning of Florida and Michigan on their ballot. If Sagarin doesn't go Florida's way, then Florida needs roughly 45 voters to switch their positioning. Big, big difference. I am proclaiming the Sagarin poll decides who goes to the BCS CG. I think Florida is getting those 10 votes (from a group of roughly 133 voters who have Michigan ahead of Florida on their ballot as of this week). Sagarin favors Florida = 10 out of 133 = 7.5 % Sagarin favors Michigan = 45 out of 133 = 33.8 %
Yeah, that is a big difference. Thanks again for your insight. I guess we'll know soon enough, but not soon enough. Goodnight.
Sagarin just came out with his poll 3 minutes ago. Drum roll please: 1. Ohio State.....102.73 2. Michigan........ 99.18 3. Florida........... 98.05 Florida's chances look to be extremely downgraded now. Only the Wolfe poll can save them. I just don't see that happening. Unless Massey puts Florida at #1. I don't see that happening either.
Glad I didn't knock off just yet. I am surprisd at the gap. I thought it might be less. So to some up, in your opinion Florida needs to gain 45 voters to change their positions between the two teams? That's a high bar.
Yeah. Those other computer polls are likely not to boost Florida. So we're looking at roughly 45 of 133 voters changing their minds about Michigan and Florida. The more I think about those numbers, the less the I think it will happen. USC hadn't even passed Michigan in the Wolfe poll after their win over ND. In fact Michigan held a considerable gap on USC, much less Florida, who is 4th in that poll before this week.
So, as I try to sign off at 3:16 a.m. central time, is your best guess that it will be LSU-USC in the Rose? :hihi:
Thank You! I bought plane tix to LAX on wed. I just KNEW that USC wouldn't choke against UCLA. I don't care if Fla. gets screwed, I don't want to spend 500 on a plane to L.A. to watch LSU in the sugar bowl on a TV at Hooters.
Check out Sagarin's ratings (not elo chess, but his overall ratings). Florida behind USC, LSU, and Louisville. This guy seriously needs to be put down - his formula is just wrong. Not to mention he has some serious bias going in his SOS formulas. His entire top 10 in SOS is the Pac10. Every single one of them.
