Jeff Sagarin computer ranking lists LSU #13

LSU apparently has the #100 Strength-of-Schedule. This should improve as we enter the SEC slate and play two more ranked teams.

The BCS uses Sagarin's ELO_CHESS ratings, so we're actually 17.

That's BS. But it's ok, we'll go higher in time.

I would think that all the teams haven't "CONNECTED" yet.

    http://www.usatoday.com/sports/sagarin/fbt06.htm

For the first few weeks of the season, the starting ratings have weight
in the process(BAYESIAN), but once the teams are all CONNECTED, thenthe starting ratings are no longer used and all teams are started equaland the ELO-CHESS is then done in an UNBIASED manner from that point on.
RATING and PREDICTOR are now bayesian and the ELO-CHESS is also bayesian.

I woudln't pay any attention to the Sagarin rankings, they'll only piss you off. He's known for this, i swear he has an SEC bias.

His poll is used in the BCS, so it's hard to ignore it.

Sagarin is very well respected, has been doing this for a long time, and doesn't have a bias against SEC teams. I presently have LSU at 10, compared to the AP ranking of 9. If we continue to win we will move up in Sagarin's numbers.

Ok, TN beats Cal in a blow out that wasn't even as close as the final score and Cal is ranked 6 spots higher....it's a joke.

Not really. There aren't really any Sagarin ratings yet. Like Deceks7 said, the teams aren't "connected", so the ratings don't really mean anything yet.
