Arizona got 41 points dumped on them by the Chargers yesterday. Derek Anderson has been having some performance issues (some of those issues could be due to the fact that Breaston and Doucet have been out). I hope we can finally get our offense clicking against the struggling Arizona defense. My bold prediction: Saints win this one by 17+ and Chris Ivory and Ladell Betts gain tons of confidence in this game.
Max Hall likely to be named starter. Anderson was benched in the game Sunday. Clausen part 2. Advantage to the Saints banged up defense.
I saw that Anderson was benched. You think Max Hall will be named starter? I've never heard of the kid. Either way you're right....it still bodes well for this Saints Defense.
Banged up is right. per nola.com, Porter is out 2 to 4 weeks with an mcl, and Reis is out for the year. This is starting to look like '08, when it seemed like we lost players when they were getting off the bus. Well, at least we've got what appears to be a pretty easy 4-game stretch. Time enough to get Porter, Harper, PT and maybe Reggie back, and hopefully we don't lose any more.
Sharper will be back in 2 weeks too. He is to our defense to what Bob Sanders is to Indys. Decent without him, but a whole lot better with him. I doubt Roddy White catches that TD pass from Ryan if that's Sharper at safety instead of Jenkins, who took a poor angle.
Well, we have to see what the long layoff did to Sharper. His smarts back there are invaluable. Jenkins blew the coverage on the Stewart TD catch against Carolina as well. But I believe he'll come around; he's not totally lost back there.
I agree. Jenkins has performed well but has a ways to go obviously. I love the fact we can now put Jenkins on a TE and have versatility in that manner when Sharper returns to FS. I think long term we are better off for Jenkins to get his feet wet at FS (he'll likely be our starter from now on starting in 2011). We will be very strong on the back end of this defense down the stretch and heading into the playoffs. I suspect we'll have Bush, Thomas, Harper, Porter, Sharper and Ingram all playing for the Pittsburgh game. Can't wait to be able to get a benchmark with that game on where we stand.
Slow in the Saints forum this Sunday... not looking too good at the moment. Carney misses a 29 yrd FG
