scout squad. the same as practice squad? or just travels with the team and doesnt see the field unless someone gets hurt, backup? i was at a party earlier tonight and looked over and saw a huge ring on a guys finger. started talking and it was a 07 sugarbowl ring. mentioned he never played. dont remember his name, but went look at last years roster and i think i found him, with SQ listed next to his name?? OL Cole Louviere
He was a sophomore offensive lineman. How many get to play on a top-5 team? This season he'll probably back up Ciron Black. The scout squad doesn't normally make the SEC traveling roster, but everybody dresses for a bowl game.
nah ah. he said he isnt playing this year. kinda used the AB excuse. needs more time for school. looks like an even thinner O line. i was just wandering. LSUSPORTS said he was the number 2 left O tackle behind your boy Ciron Black last year. i guess i just thought with his experience being listed as squad, didnt think he was that close to getting on the field.
He is listed on the active roster and has not been mentioned as a casualty. Indeed. He was playing defense last year on the scout squad! The defensive line is very deep, you know. Louviere moved to offense in spring practice and emerged as Black's backup. He's a big guy and will finally be getting some playing time.
All squad members get the ring if we win the SEC, same for going to a Bowl game and National Championship ring. My Nephew was a 4.2 gpa on the team from 2001-2003 and he has 2 SEC championship rings, 1 National Championship ring, Cotton Bowl ring and the 2001 Sugar Bowl ring. He was on the scout squad and never played a down at LSU. Durning the Saban year, I don't think he ever played a scout squad member; who hadn't been put on a ship. Les on the other hand has played many scout squad members. In 1958 LSU gave every member of the team the ring and the fr (that is when fr couldn't play.)
