I think LaPorta, Patterson, Pettaway and Iorg all had seasons worthy of being the MVP myself. I also have a feeling that the voting was very close for that award. The only real problem I have concerning LSU is Clay Harris not being first team second basemen much less not making any of them, which is pretty mind boggling. -------Adam Davis----Clay Harris Avg.-----.318-----------.378 Runs-------61-------------39 Hits-------74-------------82 2B---------13-------------17 3B----------1--------------1 HR's-------10--------------9 RBI's------49-------------54 TB's------119------------128 Slg%-----.511-----------.590 OB%------.410-----------.457 Assists---204------------165 Fldg%----.950-----------.979 SB's----21/28------------1/3 SO's-------36-------------35 GNDP--------3--------------2 BB---------33-------------29
Hats off to Determann - what an impressive accomplishment for that young man and what a wonderful representation of LSU Student Athletes. By the way, Determann is majoring in Biological Sciences - not exactly a walk in the park!
Definately isn't easy! I was a bio pre-med major for 2 years at Nicholls until I had a change of heart and switched to what I really wanted to be since around 7th grade--a sports journalist! but, I'm not so sure I want to go into sports journalism since there are so many Homers out there.
I am not a fan of his "laid back" style but I am not a “Smoke Basher”. I think the Harris move illustrates Smoke's understanding of the game. I do not think Smoke is the motivator Skip was, but then again few are. I wish I would see some passion in Smoke... I wish that passion would transcend down to his players. But at the end of the day who would you bring in here to replace him with? Plus how can you complain about a coach that gets you to the CWS as frequently as Smoke? Just wish I saw some fire out of Smoke. No pun intended.
