SEC Coaches Preseason All-SEC Team Announced Most of LSU's starting offensive and defensive lines made the list. Interesting. If RJF plays the full season its hard to imagine him not being a first team AA much less SEC. I'd also be curious who was voted ahead of Ciron Black. Thanks for posting, Red.
Also, with Michael Oher and Andre Smith it's hard for Black to crack the top team. I do think he's a fantastic tackle.
Its amazing that Black will probably be voted in as an All-American by some groups but isn't first team All-Sec. The SEC OL group is absurdly good this year. Maybe one of the best groups of all-time.

Thanks, Red, for updating us with the pre-season SEC position rankings by SEC coaches (who knows more about the players in the SEC that the SEC coaches?). In a thread started here on 5/15, TigerBait3 updated us with the pre-season SEC position rankings by Matt Hayes of Sporting News (SEC - Top Five By Position). Then, in a thread started here on 6/1, we were updated with the post-spring national position rankings by Rivals (Rivals.com releases post-spring national Power Rankings). Below is a comparison between the three rankings. Highlighted in red are those players that made all three lists. Note regarding the pre-season SEC position rankings by SEC coaches: Rather than list it by First Team/Second Team/Third Team, I ranked them 1., 2., 3. etc... unanimous selections were a rank up and ties were a rank below. It's also worth nothing that, although I didn't make this distinction, the list Red gave us of the SEC coaches rankings was not put in alphabetical order, which probably means that the higher the player on the list, the more votes he got as the better player at that position by the coaches in the SEC--also note that the ties (#) were always listed the lowest and the unanimous selections (*) were listed the highest. Note regarding the post-spring Rival Power rankings by position: Those are the national rankings, I decided to just leave it like that rather than convert it to the SEC-specific ranking. was he really not unanimous? whoever was the coach who did not vote for him, should be banned from the SEC, and yes, that includes Miles if he didn't vote him No. 1. The QBs in the league this year are miserable on paper this year.
