http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/football/ncaa/09/18/bc.fbc.auburn.lsucalls.ap/index.html Caddy was trying to hide this in a thread...j/k Thought I would post it.
Doucet wouldn't have been being pushed away from the ball, and may have been able to adjust to catch it even after it had been tipped. Or, He could have moved in front of the DB that tipped it. You just don't know because he wasn't able to due to be hung on.
what about the Auburn pass earlier in the game where the pass was not only tipped but intercepted? And pass interfernce was called. WTF!!!
I disagree. When that ball was tipped, he had no way of catching it. He had already left the ground and even though he is one of the best athletes in the game, only Michael Jordan can shift his path, mid-flight. I agree with the call, but if I was an LSU fan, I would be pissed. This will be the last game you lose this year.
yeah... catchable by us. also no mention of the hester fumble or late hit. no mention of the interference on lafell. just those two calls. also no mention of time not being added back to the clock. the refs are piss poor. i don't equate this to bias (well in auburn i do) but i equate this to the game developing at a faster speed than the refs. when these refs were playing ball it was a MUCH slower game.
The point is: he was already being tackled before the tip. Maybe he wouldn't of had to jump the way he did... I actually wouldn't think this call as near a big of a deal if it hadn't been at such a critical time, but more importantly, been one of many bad calls.
So....Once a ball is thrown, receivers are allowed to be tackled in the field if they have no chance of catching the pass...geez:lol:what a big friggin joke!
