Reading through it and it is free if anybody is interested. Todd McShay is saying that Bowe is the best WR out there in Mobile and is really standing out above the rest. Cal RB Marshawn Lynch was asked what team he plays with on NCAA College Football. He said he plays with LSU and uses Xavier Carter. http://proxy.espn.go.com/chat/chatESPN?event_id=14356
Bowe should take a good look at his bonus check and then find whoever told him to get his eyes checked and his optometrist. They deserve season tickets for next year and contributor status at TigerForums.
Everyone seems to be VERY impressed with Bowe. They're all saying he is the best WR in this bowl. They all seem to be talking about an amazing catch he made that stunned them. But too bad they say he dropped a sure TD pass on the FINAL PLAY of the practice.
I'm working in Mobile all week. Their practices are open to the public so I will probably be there. I went last year and met and took pics with Skyler Green and Joseph Addai. I almost got into a fistfight with Drew Rosenhaus, too, but that's a different story. I'll post some pictures!
Looks like Bowe is getting some front page press on cnnsi.com too. Here is a link to the story. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/football/nfl/01/23/senior.bowl/index.html
Seth (altanta): Mel, the Falcons could really use a safety in this draft. Do you think Laron Landry is still around at pick no.10? Mel Kiper: (1:15 PM ET ) Yeah, I do. That's who I have Atlanta taken. They have needs at three areas. I think Landry will be there at 10. He's a four-year starter. Good in the box safety. You're looking at a guy that will be right there for the Falcons. Nick (Columbus, OH): Mel, whose draft stock do you think improved the most from the beginning of this year? Mel Kiper: (1:20 PM ET ) That's a good question. From the beginning of the season to now, I'd say, definitely in the mix is Okoye, he's one of them. Dwayne Bowe. Craig Davis. Ben Grubbs. Anthony Spencer. Michael Okwo. Zak DeOssie. Zach Diles. Brian (Natchitoches, LA): Mel, with his strong showing at the Senior Bowl this week, could Dwayne Bowe be moving up draft boards to a mid-late first rounder? Mel Kiper: (1:29 PM ET ) I have Bowe going to the Jets at No. 25. I thought about him to Dallas at 22, but I gave them Meachem. I have WRs going throughout the first round. The ceiling for him would probably be the 17 spot. I feel comfortable in the 25 spot for the Jets. Billy: Mel, the Saints have to go defense, who do you see them taking? Mel Kiper: (1:44 PM ET ) No question they have to go defense. They have needs at CB, DT and LB. I would say right now, you'd have to go corner. There will be some CBs when they draft, but I have them taking Hughes out of Cal. Todd (Orlando, FL): Russell, Quinn, or Johnson as the #1 overall pick? Mel Kiper: (1:55 PM ET ) I think Russell. I have him going to Oakland. Then Joe Thomas, Calvin Johnson and Brady Quinn. But like I said, Peterson is moving up. Drew (Gainesville, FL): The South roster comes naturally stacked...SOUTHeastern Conference. I love basking in SEC arrogance. Brian Madison, WI: Whiny McWhinerson follows you everywhere Buzz. Buzzmaster: (2:13 PM ET ) True. Joe Monte (San Diego): Don't you think it's every player's goal to get be a fathead? Leon Hall: (3:05 PM ET ) I was watching that this morning and thought that would be kind of cool to be a fathead. That would be pretty neat. Mike (AR): Who is the star player from the South right now? Todd McShay: (3:37 PM ET ) I would say there are 3 that stand out .. Ryan Kalil from USC, LSU WR Dwayne Bowe and Tony Ugoh from Arkansas. Todd McShay: (3:37 PM ET ) The overall talent level on the South roster is clearly better than the North. Josh (Baton Rouge): Has Laron Landry, Craig Davis, or Dwayne Bowe stopped by or are they scheduled to? Senior Bowl Guy: (5:07 PM ET ) Hopefully, Bowe will sit down with us before we get out of here. He's tearing it up over a Ladd-Peebles Stadium during the practice sessions. Thought I would make it a little easier for you guys. Now you dont have to waste 20 minutes of your life scrollong through all this crap. FYI, Buster has groin injury and wont play but may drive up for interviews with coaches and scouts. And I assume Laron will also. Only Bowe and Pittman will be playing. http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/5332751.html
From Rivals: BOWE HUNTING: LSU receiver Dwayne Bowe has been one of the standouts in South practices this week. That doesn't just come from scouts, but from one of his new quarterbacks. "I'm partial to my guy, Johnnie Lee Higgins, but other than him I think the most impressive receiver is Dwayne Bowe," said UTEP quarterback Jordan Palmer, younger brother of Cincinnati Bengals signal-caller Carson Palmer. "He's got the size and speed, and he's intense." Bowe has earned praise several times during practices for his route running, something he said he has been working on this week. He has looked sharp making his cuts, and he made what one of the 49ers assistants called a "big-league play" on a curl route. "It's all about being consistent catching balls," Bowe said. "And I'm trying to make big plays when they need me. "I've been working on routes and knowing the offense. One big difference here is getting used to the tempo of an NFL practice." As far as the talent level, Bowe already has seen a lot of the guys who are here. It's called the SEC. "Everybody here is an all-star and you have to be ready to compete. I'm just working hard. I hope when it's all over I can sit back and say I did a good job." http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content.asp?SID=1144&CID=633732
BOWE-DACIOUS PLAY: Louisiana State wide receiver Dwayne Bowe made the best catch of the day when he managed to make a grab despite being well-covered by Texas safety Michael Griffin. Bowe reached over Griffin, tapped the ball skyward, then made the catch as he was falling backward. Although the LSU senior made several nice catches during the South practice, that play against Griffin may have boosted his stock the most. Bowe admitted afterward that he heard some "oohs" and "ahhs" after making the catch. http://collegefootball.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=633231
Ryan ((LA)): Hey David can you now admit that you were holding Craig Davis at the end of the LSU game? There is photographic evidence. :hihi: David Irons: (12:42 PM ET ) That wasn't me in that situation. If you watched the game, they didn't throw my way the whole game. They stayed away from me. I didn't have anything to do with that. I don't need to hold any SEC WR's. Ask Dwayne Bowe who was the most feared DB he went against. Jordan (D-Town, Tx): Who is one of the toughest WR's to cover in practice? David Irons: (12:32 PM ET ) I would say it was Courtney Taylor. He's just very physical and runs great routes. Dwayne Bowe and Johnnie Lee Higgins are great. Brien (NC): So Kenny is really that ugly? Does that hurt his draft stock? David Irons: (12:43 PM ET ) Brien, you hit it on the head. If the draft was by looks, I would be No. 1. His ugliness is really hurting his draft stock. David Irons: (12:43 PM ET ) He might be drafted into the Ugly Bowl. Jon (DC): Quentin, is Kenny Irons really as ugly as David says he is? Quentin Moses: (12:54 PM ET ) Well, I don't actually think so. I think they look alike. If David is calling Kenny ugly, he's basically calling himself ugly. David Irons: (12:55 PM ET ) Kenny looks like a broke down Bobby Brown. Steve (Akron): What was it like trying to bring down Jamarcus Russell? That guy is huge. Quentin Moses: (12:58 PM ET ) He's definitely one of the biggest and strongest QBs in the conference. It's hard to bring him down on your own. Usually takes 2 or 3 guys. Larry (Austin): Bowe said the best CB he faced was Chris Houston? David Irons: (1:01 PM ET ) That little junior? From Arkansas? Not do down him, but he is not on my level. I'm one of the best in the SEC. Dwayne Bowe is here. You can see my one on ones against him on the NFL Network. You can see for yourself. Cameron (Choctaw,OK): Quentin what team would you say was the best team you faced while playing? Quentin Moses: (1:03 PM ET ) Being in the SEC it's tough to say. Every year you face a tough Florida, Tennessee, Auburn, LSU .. it's so strong every week. You think you've seen the best team and then you see a better one the following week. David Irons: (1:04 PM ET ) Best of luck to everyone. God Bless. Keep your eyes and ears open for me. If any single ladies out there, feel free to hit me up on MySpace. mike - ca: If you had the #1 pick how would you take? Le'Ron McClain: (1:13 PM ET ) I'd take Jamarcus Russell. Ken Darby: (1:13 PM ET ) Ken Darby! John (Orlando): I heard the South team is a killer this year, is that true? Le'Ron McClain: (1:17 PM ET ) Oh yeah. A lot of SEC players so we're a killer team. We are planning on winning this game. Brandon (L.A.): How would you evaluate Dwayne Bowe? Le'Ron McClain: (1:19 PM ET ) The best receiver down here. He is probably the best receiver in the draft. That boy can play ball. John (Boston): If you hadnt played for Alabama, who would you play for? Le'Ron McClain: (1:25 PM ET ) I would have played at Alabama AandM .. I wanted to go to a black college. Ken Darby: (1:25 PM ET ) LSU. BT (Yotes Country): Whats the deal with Ken Crying on the sidelines after the loss to Tennessee Ken Darby: (1:21 PM ET ) I don't remember ever crying after no Tennessee game. Le'Ron McClain: (1:22 PM ET ) I was. BT (Yotes Country): Dont deny the cry Ken Darby: (1:24 PM ET ) Exactly what game was I crying at? The Tennessee game? No. I wasn't crying after no Tennessee game. Don't get me mixed up with the fullback. Le'Ron McClain: (1:24 PM ET ) I ain't no fullback. I do it all. Ken Darby: (1:24 PM ET ) Whatever makes you feel better man. BT (Yotes Country): Ken...every man cries. Its ok. Ken Darby: (1:30 PM ET ) OK. If you say I cried, I cried. Fine. OK. Ken Darby: (1:31 PM ET ) I'm not like Le'Ron. I'm not all emotional and sensitive. Ken Darby: (1:38 PM ET ) I gotta run. Thanks for the questions. Whoever that dude was that said I was crying.. go get some kleenex. Matt (Chicago): Buzz those guys were hilarious. Buzzmaster: (1:40 PM ET ) SEC has some funny dudes. Too bad we can't chat with them during the season. The SEC has a rule against players doing live interviews. :hihi: :hihi: :hihi: This is the first day it has been really intersting. Funny $hit. Greg (Dallas): How about Dwayne Bowe? Senior Bowl Guy: (2:46 PM ET ) Stud. Having a very good week. Bowe is definitely one of the guys standing out in Mobile. Sundance (Pittsburgh): Buzz, Whats the deal with the Brady Quinn not being in the senior bowl? you buy the knee injury? Buzzmaster: (3:21 PM ET ) I'm not buyin' it. Mike (East Lansing, MI): Who is the best WR you have been matched up with in practice? Brandon Meriweather: (6:02 PM ET ) Dwayne Bowe.
