http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=2163579 Here in Ft. Worth I've been sort of uninformed about this investigation. I remember when the teachers reported this but then I heard nothing else. What info is floating around BR about this? This really bothers me because LSU has had troubles like this that other schools have had. This is really troubling to me. Mostly because I feel that there was something wrong happening. The use of the "death penalty" really got my attention though. This sort of crap better not happen again.
They were very minor infractions and LSU self-reported them when they came out and penalized itself two scholarships, which the NCAA accepted and which already has passed. There never was an NCAA investigation. Since LSU hired the new director of the Academic Center for Athletes, this stuff doesn't happen. This was a civil suit led by a female attorney who has pressed several suits against LSU for gender discrimination in the past. LSU has learned that $100,000 is cheap to make the probem go away, versus legal expenses and continued press coverage. End of story.
