Florida coach Urban Meyer has experienced some memorable days and nights in Tiger Stadium "" both good and bad. He was a 23-year-old graduate assistant coach in 1987 at Ohio State when his starting free safety was current LSU defensive coordinator Bo Pelini. The No. 7 Buckeyes of coach Earle Bruce and the No. 4 Tigers of coach Mike Archer tied 13-13 in front 79,263 on the afternoon of Sept. 26 on CBS. Five years later, Meyer returned to Tiger Stadium as the wide receivers coach at Colorado State under Bruce and the Rams upset LSU and coach Curley Hallman 17-14 on Sept. 26, 1992, in front of 69,654.
