This would be the ultimate irony

The Dolphins' search for a coach may be making a bold and nostalgic reach toward the past with the team interviewing Mike Shula, son of Don Shula, over the weekend.
Shula spent Saturday talking with Dolphins owner Wayne Huizenga and his staff about the possibility of succeeding Nick Saban.

    Quick comments here:

    1) he has to be proactively searching for another job...if he doesn't, he loses on his buyout.

    2) does Miami have a FG kicker?

    3) Headlines upcoming after draft day: Darby 1st round pick for Miami: Retires.

    4) IF WH does the smart thing, he'll pick Mora between Shula and Gailey.

    5) Ronnie Brown, in Shula's jumbo package, scores 0 TD's in '07 season.

    6) Headline: Miami ends up being a farm system for Alabama coaches.

IN ALL HONESTY, I wish him well...

I think Shula did a decent job at Alabama, given the restrictions and probation Alabama faced, and that he should have been given another year. But, really, I cannot see him being seriously considered if he didn't have the Shula name.

I'm sure this was done out of respect for papa Shula. Anyone that watched Shula coach the TIDE this year would realize that he doesn't stand a chance. He is really a nice guy and i wish him the best but NFL head coaching ability? No chance!

Man if I were little Shula, no way would I take a job until I suck every last penny out of those inbread Alabama rednecks. He took them through probation and scholy reductions when NO one else wanted that gig.
He's young. Take a few years off, do some charity coaching, hell maybe even help out the barners so they continue to dominate the state.

Well look who got up off his sister long enough to troll our board. All that money and still a bunch of dumb inbread, rednecks. Ohh well, guess you got nothing better to waste your "chump change" on.
I'll look forward to watching my Tigers kick that ass next year in Tuscalooser!
