I think by the third time it was run, the defense had that pretty well sniffed out. He ain't passing the ball!!! Seriously that was the only coaching gaffe I have to complain about. It was the best called, coached, and played game overall this year. Having everyone healthy don't hurt you none at all.
Well, after the second time, I thought they were contiunally calling that play to set up a Sky Green pass. By the fourth time, the D would go right to run stop mode, and Sky would hit em over the top for a big game. He used to be a QB, right?
This did puzzle me. Hell, if he was supposedly a backup QB in this game, couldn't he at least have thrown a short screen pass?! Still, it was nice to see Skyler touch the ball more last night than in recent memory. By the way, who's our #1 kick/punt returner next year? :geauxtige
Good question. It sure would be nice if XC could catcha few in space. Maybe Doucet? not sure right now, come on spring football!
The last time he did it....it was fooling anyone...including the water boys. I loved it still though since we just needed to run, run, run it
Looks like we've got the speed to return, but hands and vision will be the question... Anyone know why we put JV, our #2 back in on special teams? With AB out, I didn't think we had enough depth to be able to afford a potential injury... I know we want to have playmakers in there, but it was scary to think what could've happened if the game had been close: Addai not healthy at the end, Vincent not healthy, what if Hester had been our lead back going into a close 4th quarter? SCARY! Happy New Year's, TIGAS!
I take it that you work far away and never saw any games the past 2 years? JV has been our best special teamer since 2003
Didn't realize that. And yes, I do live far away... in the land of USC fans. So it's been tough for me to keep up with the tigers. But, now that I'm aware of Tigerforums, I won't make that mistake again! Just scared the heck out of me last night to see both guys hurt. A close game would have been tough with Addai AND JV out. I guess it's a risk that only gets noticed and criticized when someone goes down, though.
Addai could have played if needed. He just got a cramp. But with hester bowling over folks, we didn't need him.
